AH - Buying TWW greens for alts, level requirements change after purchase?

So, something odd happened - I started to level an alt and went to the AH on that L70 alt to see if there was any OP gear for this xpac, as there usually is. There were greens, flagged for level 70 in the AH for ~450 gold, so I bought several. When they arrived in the mail they suddenly required level 80. What the heck? Why would the required level change between what’s shown in the AH and what gets mailed to me? Granted, a 561 chest on a L70 would have been way, way OP so I should have been suspicious, but… Still…

What’s the deal?

Yeah, I have run across that too. Click the item, don’t buy it and mouse over the item with the gold amount, it should show the actual item stats

This weirdness happened to me with greens I gathered up while leveling my main. I sent the greens out to various alts that maybe could use them. Now they are all level 80 requirement where they weren’t before, so they’re useless to the alts that needed them.
