After DM please slow down

Classic is Blizzard’s stab at the blizzlike vanilla pserver scene. They are already getting things wrong by catering to people who don’t want that, and instead want to chase our version of AOTC.

I don’t think the concern is power creep so much as giving us a sign of what we can expect when the top echelon of players encounter a content drought of their own making.

They should accelerate releases then finish the old content they never completed like Hyjal.

The OP specifically complained about power creep.

I’m not the OP

Yea, apparently the 48 cant read very well since the power creep was the main thing i took from the OPs post. If DM gear is too much of a power creep when we are on 1.12 balance… than i fear this game is already dead. I guess thats it bois. Lets pack it up and move on. Guess the games DOA

The thing about private servers is that there was always a new big and better server around the corner. A considerable number of players would jump to the fresh server for the sake of starting over and competing. It’s safe to say that sort of thing is over.

Really? So K1/2/3 were bad and empty? Nostralius? LH? i can go on. All of them had a very healthy population - one of which was so enormous that Blizzard finally decided to give us Classic. But, you are right. I guess its just about FRESH and no players stayed for long periods of time. Cough cough. Sorry i cough a lot when i say blatant lies to please the masses.

Don’t pretend they didn’t have dead servers. And canceled servers. All I’m saying is there most likely won’t be a reset after we rush through all the content in a year.

Are you claiming Nostralius reset? or died prior to the CnD being sent to them? Are you claiming that the rest were all dead within a year? The ones i named were popular up to the launch of Classic.

Which will lead them to releasing all the content faster and less longevity for the game.

No! Many of us are not even 60 yet! Don’t push content because you’re impatient!

Im not 60 yet… you dont see me crying about a dungeon that was released within 4 months of the game launching. Yes, i am 59 - but its still a valid comment.

In my dream every phase after 2 would last at least a year. But I know blizzard will rush things sadly.

At the same time its the whole purpose of Classic, free publicity, at least at an Executive level.

They didn’t do this for us, lol.

How would Cruel Barb/Emberstone Staff/Cookie’s wand be a big power creep?
Is there some super-OP hidden power they have?

I could care less how the content is rolled out, but there are plenty of glaring issues and bugs that have yet to be addressed.

My biggest concern is what it’ll do to an economy wherein at least half, if not most people on the server aren’t even 60 yet.

When Dire Maul was released originally, it wasn’t just 3 months later- it was 3 extra months of people levelling, of more people getting to 60, of everyone figuring out their class and their roles in groups, and most importantly, of everyone getting a decent chance to farm themselves some gold, get their professions up to snuff, and be on an equal platform.

Releasing Dire Maul a mere 50 days after launch when only 10-15% of the population is at 60 and less than that are farming MC is going to wreck the economy. Because DM is incredibly easy to farm and will flood the game with gold, but only into the top % of guilds and players, who will then be able to manipulate the market however they want.

Most of us are broke- there are constant topics here on where to farm to get mount gold by 40 and countless conversations about how people are struggling to get gold for items and training.

DM on farm gives the hardcore raiders a crapton of gold and endgame mats. It’ll raise the costs of pretty much everything on the AH as they flood the market with new money and start buying out mats and gear for their runs and their alts. It means the rest of us are going to have a much harder time levelling as mats and gear climbs out of our reach, because we don’t have DM on farm.

And as far as your attitude in this post goes, you can stick it where the sun don’t shine. You wanna puff up your chest and act like a big bad, switch to your classic main, you coward.

I dont know, I understand people wanting it to go slow like how it was released original.

I never seen this as more than 3- 4 month per Phase max, because people already know the game everyone levels/gears faster. I can see any phases longer then that (without PvP rewards and BG’s) could result in mass unsubs until new content, baring they don’t find another game during their un-subbed period and not come back. a little bit faster means retaining more subs longer.

This isn’t 3-4 months. I know it feels like forever but the game released less than 2 months ago!

And as I said above, 85%+ of the population hasn’t hit 60 yet. Which means they’re still broke as they level to 60, and even the fresh 60’s are just now looking to form MC groups, get raids ironed out, and farm for their epic mounts.

The game hasn’t even settled in yet, and really, there’s no way that people who are bored of a game in less than 2 months should be driving the direction of content.

The better bet of ‘people may get bored at 60 and quit’ is: how many people will see the sudden jump in AH prices, see that at 45-55 that they can’t even afford to buy basic mats for a reasonable price anymore, and quit out of frustration? How many people will feel like they’re shut out of enjoying the game because they literally can’t afford to purchase mats they need and they don’t have the time to farm themselves because of their lack of playtime?

A lot of people only came back for the nostalgia and the idea that the game is more casual. If Blizz starts spitting out new content every 2 months that’s going to be too fast for them to keep up and they’re going to feel like they’re left out of the best content- because let’s be honest, by the time they catch up, a lot of the playerbase will have already moved on. It’s the Exact Same Problem retail already has.

I was just stating why I think they are doing some of the things they are.

Myself I have 4 chars and not one has hit 30 yet. I honestly dont care how fast or slow they go. between 19 years of EQ raiding sprinkled in with some Wow, AO and FF, I have no interest in raiding in any game anymore. I’m here on classic to hang out with some friends, and slowly level some chars and to do some BG’s when they become available.
