theres zero point in defending when games end in 5m including the prep period. You will never get honor for it. Turn chat off so you don’t get tempted to tell them how dumb they are and just follow the pack and you will be fine.
All these people claimed innocence, all actually did something.
While false positives DO happen, and there’s an appeals process for it (regardless of whether or not appeals take too long, I think they do but that’s a different issue), they are rare for chat related offenses or gameplay disruption like this.
Most people who claim they “did nothing wrong” in AV, most definitely did do something wrong. It might not even have been in AV that they did it.
There was a blue reply in the CS forum saying that constantly going out of your way to tell people in the AV chat to report people for being afk is disruptive gameplay and similar to afking, so there is also that.
Just play the game. Don’t get upset and berate people in the chat. If you see someone afk just report them and keep playing the bg, blizzard will take care of them eventually if they keep doing it.
Most people are not afraid of being falsely reported, they are afraid of being properly reported for the things they actually did.
If you didn’t do anything wrong, you don’t have anything to fear. Yes, being falsely actioned is a possibility, but most of the time this happens not because of a chat penalty from what I’ve seen, but from a banwave for botting/etc as recently happened.
There’s just no reason to live in fear of being falsely reported for something you didn’t do, because people can report you all they want but nothing will likely happen.
Maybe if those people were more afraid of actually saying things that break the rules they’d be more careful with what they type in-game.
Well, showing evidence that getting mass reported isn’t a thing that can actually cause a penalty, and that people are rarely actioned for something they didn’t do.
I think you misunderstand. My goal isn’t to convince the people who are lying that they shouldn’t be afraid. My goal is to convince any third parties reading this who haven’t done anything wrong that they don’t have to worry about getting reported.
The people who lie about what they did, know they did things that violate the rules but they are mad they got held accountable for their actions and also want to convince the rest of us that reporting people doesn’t work right to try to avoid accountability in the future.
