If I got affliction warlock am I a face tanker? It does not seem smart to be running away from melee when I can be using that time to cast dots?

If you are Siphon Life/Soul Link spec you are good to drain tank. It doesn’t hurt to try and kite them a bit when they blow cds and stuff but you wont get far.
Learn to juke interrupts and drain tank as affliction and you should be fine. I’m no pro at affliction or arena so I would recommend watching some guides on youtube.
In bgs you sit at max range, and run if anyone closes distance on you, dotting as you kite since most dots are instant and have no face requirement. You can also play as UA or Destro in a bg situation
In arenas it’s different since you’re more or less forced into SL/SL for tbc, where you mongoloid facetank everything. Wrath will give locks much better playstyle options for pvp that don’t make you feel like you have severe brain damage when you play it, thankfully =)
