I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about this. I feel like this ones going to border on OP lol. Afflictions always been my go to spec as a lock. Definitely excited about the change. Supatease and Ven both pretty much broke into laughter in their recent update videos. Can’t wait to try it out.

We’ll see if the buffs do something to fix the core problems. When I’m on my aff lock I’m by far top dam and yet nothing dies. No finishing power. Oblivion buff may fix that but we’ll see. I think aff needs some sort of stun to lock down kills more than dot dam.

Feel like fixing the honor talents (baseline stuff) and a survivability buff vs melee would have been a lot better than even more damage. They already pump as of now.
But that’s Blizz’s trend lately - just buff a specs damage until they’re broken and do nothing about their core toolkit that’s the problem.

Yeah the buffs are very questionable and definitely not in the correct direction
I’d like to be able to take pvp talents depending on a matchup for some more survivability but now I guess I’m locked into a crappy void torrent and maybe I can close a game out in 5 minutes instead of 6

The surv issue will become less a problem as health pools grow as the expansion continues.
Affliction has always felt like a threshold spec to me. It’s kind of just useless padding until you hit the threshold where it fairly easily starts making healers uncomfortable just by nature of having basic damage on things and then it’s really strong. It’s hard for me to think of a time when aff was just “good”.

The problem is that there’s too many mandatory talents right now to just live. The damage is great. If survivability is fixed, Oblivion may be okay.
