Hellcaller is just fluff damage in pvp

Will ghost the thread since they’ve been called out: TBD, though likely.
Did a solo and was cranking damage with hell caller. Actually it felt really good
I wonder if this will affect demo soul harvest or too. I know it’s listed under aff but last time they nerfed shadow bolt for aff it also hit demo too. I know they’ll probably mess up the coding somewhere.
At this point, I can tell the devs use a mathematical simulation to balance classes instead of playing the game.
So my next question is, are they simulating interrupts, stuns, immunities, dispels, and all other forms of micro CC? Or are they using a target dummy model with minimum movement and assuming we have 100% uptime?
Sadly, with these upcoming nerfs, I’m starting to think it’s the latter.
Mains are Seofon and Metera on the same server, Azgalor.
Honestly my biggest issue with Aff is it hitting harder than Destro. No reason my *instant cast SB’s should be critting for 1.1-1.3m and my CB’s aren’t anywhere close to that.
CB’s should get a buff and the proc should really be changed to be instant cast too.
Chaos bolt def needs to hit way harder in pvp but we finally have a single target drill spec for aff and we are starting to lose it to nerfs.
Its gone man. TBH anyone saying shadow bolt shouldnt hit harder then CB is kinda a fried take to me. IMO they should both hit hard ones shadow and ones chaos only diff. But if blizz wants us to be tanky live lords with a pet sitting on healers all game in arena then ill play hell caller and watch people complain about the slow rot
Hellcaller will be more damage on the board but instead of 30 kbs it will be like 3 lol.
From what i can tell, they use a mix of statistic representation as well as class throughput.
Also, rarely do they ever buff underperforming specs enough when a class has an overperforming spec already, it’s not until said overperforming spec is nerfed ( into irrelevance) that the other specs can have their shot, it’s a form of cycling i guess.
Although sometimes classes can have more than one viable spec, usually one overperforming and another that’s “decent/good”, purely by chance (pve tuning mostly).
I can’t recall a time where a class adjustment was made for a specific CC instead of throughput though.
Even when the CC durations were nerfed across the board, it was a philosophy change rather than individual nerfs.
I’m getting sick and tired of the affliction nerfs.
I have been a warlock main for a long time now, and I was looking forward to PvPing as Soul Affliction, which finally has the burst and fluidity we needed.
However, all we got was 3 nerfs in a row.
I’m going to main this shadow priest instead; at least shadow has and is going to be buffed, which is better as there is more to look forward to.
How much is this nerf overall % wise? I feel like after this it will be impossible to kill a healer in PvP.
About 16% overall for soul harvester.
That’s not good…
I’m okay with the damage nerfs, but they need to buff survivability more than this. Drain life is still broken and doesn’t heal or do damage.
All warlock specs and affliction in particular have the highest percentage of death rates compared to all class specs in arena per skill capped YouTube channel and they’re generally the number one focus target. They need some more buffs to survivability. I wish they’d bring back the dark bargain talent from cataclysm.
No. Just revert SH nerfs in pvp, it was fine.
PVP dont count bro, is a raw content
Play a lock in a melee zugzug fest in solo shuffle and tell me they are OP…
I really wish Blizzard would put some effort into balancing PvP rather than just cherry picking examples where a warlock gets ignored in pug BGs to base their balancing decisions.
Yeah I feel like this change was made off the tears of people in regular bgs who have no gear and don’t know how to PvP.
