I’m starting to enjoy PvP. I’ve always enjoyed PvE, but I thought I’d branch out. Is there any tips for someone who is just starting out?
Don’t skip steps
- damage
- burst
- defensives
- cc
- utility
-
never know if you’re doing good burst if you can’t soften someone
-
Never know if you’re playing your defensives correctly until you understand counter pressure
-
Never know if you’re ccing correctly if you’re not killing people or living in proper cc (not to much not to little)

Helping your team is important but it doesnt pad meter so unless ur trying to win screw grounding and take skyfury 8D
Oh and make friends. Friends make pvp awesome! =)
Also don’t blame your team, the second you start blaming your team. You plateau
they are going to kick your butt in bgs, and hard, and they will keep doing it until you start kicking theirs, and then you will like to keep kicking people’s butt until you feel like its too easy, and then aim for arenas, and then you keep kicking and being kicked over and over again until you discover what you did to yourself.
and if you are a healer you are a militar objetive 24/7 and you started to enjoy being kicked hard.

Know your class. Really. Open your spellbook and your talent tree and understand what it all does and how they synergize. You almost certainly need every one of those spells on your bars for some scenario, and often multiple macros of a same spell.
-
Know your rotations and burst. They are usually different than PvE. Look up class guides on youtube for help. For example searching “feral druid battlegrounds”.

Get used to spamming CC and learn CC DR’s. Know what your own CC can or can’t overlap or DR with. Breaking someones CC only to DR it really sucks and can throw matches.

Take responsibility for your losses. Stuff like gear can have an impact on win/lose but crying about it doesn’t make you better. Instead, look at what you could have done better as a player. Try to recognize where you messed up, clicked wrong, broke someones CC, etc. Focusing on this helps you improve immensely.

Learn the objectives and strats of battlegrounds. While the objectives are pretty straight-foward, the strats are not and a lot of players do not bother learning.

If you are new, you are going to suck. Probably for quite a while. Keep playing and seeking improvement and you’ll git gud eventually.

Join a PvP guild/community whether it’s in-game or on discord. Playing together with others helps a lot more than playing alone.
