Look into what paladins are in vanilla. If that’s what you want then play it, if not then don’t. I’m looking forward to what vanilla paladins are.
To level? Are you seriously arguing Ret isn’t good enough to level with in 1.12?
If I am understanding this post correctly, they are saying paladins are boring to play because they they don’t crusader strike. The advice he is really trying to give is that players shouldn’t play ret, which I can agree with, it’s terrible.
However, if you enjoy playing support, Paladin is an awesome class. They have tons of utility and tons of abilities to use in group play.
Hit seal of command, auto attack mob, alt tab out for ~30 seconds before the buff runs out, judge, finish off mob with auto attacks or queue up another SoC, heal up, run to next mob, rinse and repeat. That’s all there is to leveling as ret… No joke, it’s like 90% auto attacking and you only have to hit abilities every 25-30 seconds lol…
Yeah yeah. Paladins are fine. No one is expecting to be a rogue, a priest, and a warrior all wrapped into one.

Got news for ya… that’s every class. If your real point is “don’t play classic”, then fair enough. No one is forcing you to. You can freely head back to BFA. I’m sure your level 120 paladin is fantastic, free of any kind of flaws what so ever.
They seem to be missing seals and auras.
You got plenty of strikes though don’t you? I’m sorry I’ve never actually played past Cataclysm. My highest was 85.

I disagree with Shadow being not viable…
I think shadow damage in raids is fine, I think the Mana restrictions and the debuff slots is why it isn’t brought.
Most guilds use one for shadow weaving if that, usually they have a healing priest spec into it.
If other people give up on leveling paladin then that’s fine. That means less competition for dungeon, raid, and premade spots.
Holy Paladins are great.
This isn’t advice.
Real advice would be something like “Heal until you collect that full set of BiS Spelladin gear, then go drop fools in a global! muhahaha”.
How about no. I enjoy healing and being a support class.
