Holy paladins are great tank healers and top notch pvp healers in classic. People will play pally to heal just like all the other healing classes that are similarly terrible at dps.
Understood. But assuming one class isn’t overstated on private to classic by anymore than the others healers, paladin is tops or near it. Again, there is more than hps to healing and priest brings a toolkit matched only by the shaman. What surprised me was druid surpassing shaman by BWL. Maybe that’s the flag?
No matter, paladins are very strong and especially as healer. I don’t know the class so I can’t come up with counterpoints to the OP but I remember thinking bubble boy was a pita back in the day. I still would rather have my shaman brethren.
The problem is he’s using a snapshot of the entire raid including trash with people who ridic overgear the content.
There is going to be fights where druids will pull ahead of shamans, and the oppisite also holds true.
The only thing we can pull from tips’s “data” is an indicator of overall performance.The real proof will be in the pudding.

Again, I will quote my earlier post because it sums it up quickly:
Holy: You are a mana battery that spams low to medium heals to keep the raid topped off, while other healers drop the big heals for chunk damage. Yes, hpals could have decently high HPS, but it wasn’t life saving HPS, it was just raid healing topping people off that were below 80% hp.
On paper, it looks like hpals are high hps healers, which they technically are, but they weren’t usually the real backbone of the healing. It’s just that they spend almost every gcd casting small heals. Other healers have longer intervals between heals to try to milk a little bit of mana out of the 5 second rule between big heals.
Though sometimes, you’d be on tank healing duty as an hpal, it wasn’t as common from what I remember with the guilds that I was in, but that’s very composition dependent and fight dependent.
Pretty much my whole vanilla time, was glorious.
If you like wearing a dress, sparkly lights, and unicorns roll a paladin.
If you are so swole you can’t reach around to scratch your own back roll a warrior.
You can’t deny it, we have the coolest dress of what, 7 expansions so far and still counting. It’s even a plate dress.
One thing WoW has never been: limited range of mobility. Logic has no power over the omnipotent clipping and stretching.
