Adventures Companions Updates Now Live

  • Ardenweald Bramble Trap ability redesigned. This is now a 1-cooldown ability which deals damage and reduces the damage of the next enemy attack.

I haven’t seen something this dumb since Melvin shorted GME. Revert this change please so my mission table isn’t dead for the next 2-3 months while my guys slowly hit 60 from suicide missions.

It’s pretty common knowledge that if something is too good to be true it probably is.

Sorry that I’m not shedding any tears over one of the most OP covenant options actually getting a slap on the wrist, actually it’s not even a punishment it’s simply a bug fix.

I know players seem to want Blizz to hardcore hold their hands though, so I’m sure after all this they will add some time gating and no-fail safeguards to the mission table of all things.

Sounds like yet another rushed feature, being left rushed, barely any real good change to the system and another half baked .2 or .3 fix when nobody else cares except maybe collectors.

Wow at its best.

Please put back experience missions

Certainly looks and sounds like somebody is just phoning it in on their job here.

Glad I don’t do this crap anymore.

Now, lets fix stuff for the people who got hurt in all these Ardenweald nerfs. Now my troops are low level and all my missions are way to high to complete.

Night Fae crying about not being able to complete missions, welcome to being a Kyrian or a Venthyr for the last 3 months.

Zero sympathy.

I understand that Night Fae followers needed a nerf, but did you have to do it in hotfix form? I’ve now got mission after mission that I had set up using an addon with the expectation of success coming back as a failure. No warning, no prep time, just a quick change and suddenly all that anima I spent is wasted due to having the rug pulled out from under me by Blizz changing the rules.

I guess this is just part of how Blizzard operates now. Neat. Looking forward to hotfixes destroying my class’s output mid-fight in the future.

It should have been done during beta when concerns were raised not two months after hitting live though.

Blizzard’s crack mission (err sorry, “adventure,” lol) table team will be rubbing their hands together in evil glee about that - since the clear primary design goal of the table was to make it as difficult as possible to develop add-ons for.

Taking pleasure in others’ pain? That’s very Wow, really.

A game of suicide and schadenfreude when the fun doesn’t shine :stuck_out_tongue:

Dont care, Night Fae players screamed for months about how this was fair and how Kyrian/Vent players were just bad at using their table

Zero sympathy. Enjoy the suicide missions, just as we had too.

Just make the vers bonus also affect damage reduction and it would already be better.

I honestly don’t understand why it doesn’t. Vers already scales double for damage/healing than damage reduction, then a further 40% on top of that.
So basically 2.8 times the value of the damage reduction. Ie If you have 28% (inc 8% trinket bonus) damage/ healing you have 10% damage reduction.

Which only gets worse as gear gets better. Ie the damage increase is far greater than the reduction, at the point now where we already have one-shots essentially.
But imagine 2 patches in when people have ~40% base vers.
At that stage they would have 56% increased damage/healing to 20% damage reduction.

Woohoo! <–Venthyr here.

Now hopefully I won’t have to out level my missions by 10 before I can do them anymore  :

Seriously though, I wasn’t sure how that was going to work when my missions hit max level because I wouldn’t be able to out level them at that point…

Thanks!

Err… no, no “they” didn’t. Quite the imagination you’ve got there.

The more likely outcome is that most Night Fae players will just abandon the pile of steaming dog crap that is the “adventure” (lol!) table rather that burn anima trying to get it back to a usable state.

I know I’ve got better things to do with my scarce anima than throw it into the suicide fund.

I’ll just chalk it up to yet another progression brick wall, another reason to log in struck off the ever-shortening list.

Cool, more nerfs…

Welp, guess that’s one more item from the new expac I’m going to ignore from now on.

Ya, revisionist history, just as I expected on the forums.

For clarification, is this just an update specifying the change that people reported as a stealth nerf about a week ago? Or is this the actual change which has only just been implemented in the past day?

Also any intention of allowing lower level xp missions to continue to show up after progressing the mission table?
Currently the table is set out to progress through the adventure “badges” however we continue to acquire level 1 companions even after we have long since lost those low level missions.

Considering how difficult a lot of those quests are for companions of appropriate level, it becomes very difficult to carry additional level 1 companions, especially due to the scarcity of xp quests in the first place.

The buffs to Kyrian and Venthyr companions are welcomed, but for Nightfae, I can accept some hard missions that require very high level or maybe specific companions and strategies to complete, but with the trappers nerf, now I cannot win 90% of the missions which is not fun at all.
