And they drag the troop level down.
I have Kleia at 48 now, she DINGED this morning.
She’s currently 10950xp from 49. My goal is to get her there tomorrow, give or take.
She’s on an 1800 xp mission will be followed by 1600xp and another 1600xp. That will carry me to 6AM tomorrow and then she will only need ~6,000 more XP. 4 more XP missions tomorrow and she’ll have more than enough to DING.
Venthyr need few more healer followers.
NF table is pretty much dead now with this change, if you’re on the top end of it.
I was just suicide missions anyway. but lost one my dreamweaver team with some stones, that i usually sell off.
Looks like im just doing suicide missions now since Blizz put no effort into making a competent system. What a waste of development time.
I agree that the trapper bug needed a fix, but now I have missions 20 levels higher than my champions, and getting level 1 characters every week keeps my troop level 10 lower still.
So… I’m just packing them all together into a train car as tight as I can and sending them off to die twice per day.
This is total BS.
Why put in a minigame if you can’t be bothered to make it worthwhile and playable?
What were you thinking?
Even the BFA table was better than this BS, and it was, itself, BS.
RP wise - “Well, time to send you all off to die again. If you have time bring me back some fish.”
@Blizzard - Why did you create fairy-buchenwald?
This is an awful system.
-
You need an addon like Venture Plan just to understand how everything works, and to calculate your odds of success based on constructing a 5 person team out of 12 (for me right now) companions and 2 support troops.
-
It was entirely possible to succeed far past the point of reason, and not even understand -why- or -how-, just that you were doing it.
(i.e. I kept tackling the Campaign missions because they looked important, and they kept offering neat rewards, and I kept succeeding. But nowhere in the game does it say "if you go too far, you’re screwed.)
2b) As the other covenants have shown, it was also possible to just be underpowered and not succeed at all. -
The Night Fae nerfs have significantly screwed over a lot of players. I mean right now, my adventurers range from 31 to 42. Missions are offered from level 36 to 48. I’ve completed 15 Campaign missions, and was lucky/wise enough to not complete #16 even when I realized I could. Before, I could tackle almost any mission offered. Now? Almost none of them. Because…
-
Adventurer leveling is also screwed up. I earned a new companion this week via Renown. I’ve refused to accept them. Why? Because if I do, it drags down my troop levels again. And I can’t afford to level more newbies when I’m still trying to get the most recent guys up to speed.
Look, Blizzard, you handed us a system with insufficient documentation, no transparency, ridiculous costs, insufficient resources, and inconsistent levels of difficulty. I shouldn’t be flinging all of my companions on suicide missions just to level them because there’s no way to actually succeed in most of them until they’re higher. And I even kept my companions in reasonable range of the mission levels, unlike many other players who accidentally outleveled their ability to succeed altogether.
And by the way: I doubt anyone at this point is actually interested in watching 16 rounds of tokens fighting each other in reply. The recap system, even with a skip option, takes too long.
This entire system needs a lot of reworking.
I did a numerical comparison on Reddit which I’ll get around to posting here when I have the motivation, but kyrian and venthyr’s best teams are now approximately even and 20% stronger than night fae’s best without trappers. Dreamweaver+trappers is still, on average, about as strong as a full companion team. Obviously I made some assumptions and the way the actual fights play out with us always going first and possibly eliminating enemies matters, but from a pure numerical stat comparison night fae could use a little boost.
And of course add some set level exp mission
this is what i would love to know, more often then not i can’t do a mission without my companions being bslapped back into the stone age.
I am so confused by Night Fae players. Why would you have possibly thought it was intended for you to succeed at missions 5+, 10+, 15+, 20+ your level and now you’re mad your Covenant is fixed and cannot steamroll content? You clearly abused the system and now you will have to catch up to your previously obtained and inflated progress level just like the others have. No sympathy here.
Maybe because the system is so f-ing broken that we don’t even know what’s intended and what’s not. All we know is some things work, some don’t, and now almost nothing works. If we know anything else, it comes from out of game sources which not everyone is always up-to-date on.
It’s not even a case of steamrolling content, it’s a case of even COMPLETING content. And that’s been an issue from the start with the adventurer table. Remember how in the beginning, it wasn’t even made clear how to USE the support troops?
All the people who have no sympathy are the ones f***ed over by the same broken system, and it’s laughable. Imagine, being glad that other players are being screwed because Blizzard put out a broken and imbalanced system, instead of arguing for a full-on reform to make it fair and balanced and accessible for everyone.
Ummmm no, i was just dragging followers into little slots and starting missions, i didn’t know what level they were or how strong they were, all i knew was that the system wasn’t especially intuitive so i just kept sending missions off and crossing my fingers (same thing i’m doing now lol).
At least with the previous expansions tables you had some idea of what was going on and they actually told you your success chance.
I don’t understand what the anima starved players are spending their anima on.
I obtain about 400 anima a day @ 2 BGs, some dailies, some rares. My table uses about 200-400. So at worst I break even on anima, at best I may earn 200 anima.
If you’re dividing your anima among a lot of objectives then you cannot expect to excel as well on the command table compared to jokers like me who are on focus fire.
I spent 16k anima to get the 25% faster healing AND the 25% shorter mission times. While faster healing is meh, the 25% faster run times are AWESOME. As I run and clear more quests, I get a lot more missions available.
For example on my table now I have 4 XP missions:
Blighted Times - 300 + 1500XP - 3 hours
Umbral Regiment - 300 + 1500XP - 3 hours 22 minutes
Forsworn Phalanx - 400 + 1200XP - 5 hours 37 minutes
Rifts, Unkept - 400 + 1200 - 6 hours
Total run time: 18 hours, give or take.
This does not include the 2 I already ran right after 1am and at 8am (i overslept my 4am alarm…).
So my main team can run up to 6 XP missions per day @ say 1600XP per mission for a total of 9600XP in a span of 24 hours. Even if it is only 5 missions, that is still 8000xp per day.
THIS is how I am able to power level my team.
No cheating, and definitely not lying.
I had this problem and it turns out that it levels based on those “special quests” (the ones that increase the level). Stop running those until you catch up.
Yeah, i stopped a little while ago when i found out but once again, it would have been nice if the game actually told us "Keep doing these missions and your table will become useless"
Yeah, I misread it at firt. I didn’t realize it would increase the entire table, I thought it was like a single questline that you run through it. By the time I was told different I was 15-20 levels behind.
All I can say is keep running the lowest level ones and even ones you know you will fail. It turns out you get some xp whether or not you succeed so just keep running them.
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been closing the gaps. the hard part now is when I get a new level 1 companion. Getting them leveled up is a chore.
Was it really a bug though? When they nerfed it before, there wasn’t any mention of a “bug” that I remember. It was just a nerf, IIRC. When did this become a bug, exactly, or is that just some excuse that Blizzard threw out there so they wouldn’t look bad?
Except those missions were like 4 or 8 hours long and completable so the followers had health remaining to resend them immediately. While we can get the same XP as before, it is now vastly longer to complete them with the followers dying and needing time to regenerate health. (With doing just 1 1500 XP mission a day, my Dreamweaver at level 41 will take 76 days to get to level 50! I haven’t seen the XP requirements beyond level 50 so can’t calculate the last 10 levels.)
Doesn’t help if you have done every one of those Campaign quests for all of the pets and mounts.
And the last remaining bit of content I was enjoying gets nerfed to be just as unrewarding as the rest of the game. At least give xp missions back. It makes no sense to drop xp missions from the mission board before your companions are level 60. It make even less sense when you are adding time locked companions that start at level 1.
Blizzard really needs to take a look at how they intend for players to play their game and the rate at which rewards are given for participating in that content.
