Adjustments to Dungeon Creature Behavior and Group XP

They still won’t group with you

Why would I want to play with cheaters?

I mean people are convincing themselves that by ending mage boosting that it will “force” people to level out in the world and make the old world thrive again.

It won’t. It will just end the motivation people have to play new characters

I dont think any actually believes this change forces anyone to do anything but it does eliminate a form of gameplay that a significant portion of the playerbase finds distasteful.

all 10 SoM players are rejoicing at their saved game.

Never played it

Why would you wait the entire xpac before doing this, if you have known this the whole time? I truly don’t get it.

So you are saying people don’t like leveling because they find it repetitious?
This reasoning seems odd since you are trading one repetitious activity for another. Running the same dungeons or raids over and over and over.

Instead you’d prefer “wasting half a day” in dungeons and raids you’ve seen a billion times.
Okay…

I dont have a problem with nerfing boosting.

I do have a problem with nerfing core class mechanics to do it.

This is a lazy ‘fix’ and is blatantly biased, specifically targeting one class, while other classes capable of solo farming large groups of mobs have nothing changed… with even more such classes being added very soon.

Mage farming bad. Pally farming A-OK!

“we will soon adjust the behavior of creatures in most dungeons (including the new dungeons coming in Wrath of the Lich King Classic) to make it significantly more difficult to endlessly snare and kite enemies.”

This is the part that worries me. If you guys break cc gameplay to nerf a stupid sideline issue like boosting then you’re blowing it. Nerf the xp, see how it goes, and then try adding a thing. You know, like responsible adults running a multimillion dollar operation should? Good lord, I fail to understand how you guys greenlight stuff like this all at once. This doesn’t strike you as something that could go horribly wrong?

And soon…

DK farming OK

Druid farming OK

What they did in SOM seems to have done the trick, I assume it’ll just be the same.

I feel like it does.

For real whose mans is this?

We’re talking about RMT now? Well you and the developers are not ready for the GDKP conversation then.

Wow you guys really rushed out this fix!!! Too bad we didn’t have it years ago.

and it’s dead. It really worked

Wrong again, what you don’t get is an active world anymore, I’ll have my current 3 alts at 80, but what all of you morons wont have is an active world populated by people, this change kills that entirely, what you will get is a ghost world, at least you saw people questing before while they waited on their 5 per hour to be removed or some quested because they ran out of gold, and had to wait till the next Gdkp on their main, but thats all gone now, and I’m gonna laugh at all of you when your back on here complaining you can’t do any low level dungeons, and I sure as hell won’t lift a finger to be kind to one of you, because you deserve whats comming next.

It’s not dead because of a lack of boosting, it’s dead because the first wave of people getting to relive Classic came and went, and the audience for a true never changing game is extraordinarily niche, especially with TBC getting put out, and everyone “knowing” WoTLK would be next, both of which were extremely popular expansions.

I could see myself redoing a Classic campaign someday again, but I knew from the start of SOM announcement I wasn’t interested in doing something I had literally just gotten done doing. Pretending boosting killed SOM is utterly laughable, I don’t even know how boosting is supposed to solve anything considering new players wouldn’t have any gold for it.

This is hilarious levels of copium.
