Addons?

GS did not get added to the game until wotlk. I have heard theories that it has always existed but at an internal level but that doesnt mean that external code will exist. so that doesnt mean an addon will be able to display something that has no means of being displayed.

all in all, any kind of addon like this- will be biasly made and should not be trusted AT ALL.

if you are in vanilla and can not do it the old fashioned way, its clear that its not vanilla you are wanting. if you want that kind of thing, to encourage toxicity within the raiding community- retail is waiting for you.

GearScore came from somewhere, and it was based on their own database rather than pulling the game's internal numbers. Every piece of gear in Classic will be in that database, so it is just adjusting the programming to work with the engine.

And I guarantee that some guilds will require it as soon as it exists.

GS came in during wotlk. at least external numbers did. but my comment was referring to the ability to display externally, when such a thing never existed until then. there may be no way to display internal numbers in the data base. at least not until it came with said expansion pack. and if people do find a way to display these numbers, it will be very faulty and most likely biased (non factual).

this is where we start to step into creating a new game that is not a historical recreation of vanilla. which goes against what ion and the team are working toward. the numbers might have been there internally but they were never made/written to be displayed externally. not until wotlk. and anyone who attempts to do this, should be banned. in my opinion. it is messing with something that they have no place to mess with.
