Addons you would like for Classic

I remember being a clicker throughout most of Vanilla and having no addons… I feel the convenience of addons in modern WoW crippled me to an extent and i’m a little worried about what addons will be available during Classics release. I’d like to start a discussion about the addons that you all would enjoy seeing in Classic. I know a few of these addons will be available however going to list them anyway…

Most important to least important addon list:

*Healbot: “Configure key mouse combos to cast any helpful spell on Players with active bars. Configure key mouse combos to cast any helpful spell on Players with non-active bars. Configure key mouse combos to cast any harmful spell on Enemy targets with active bars. Any usable item can be added to all combos. Any existing macro can be added to all combos. Target, Focus and Assist can be added to all combos. HealBot can track and display who has aggro. HealBot can be used for decursive functions. HealBot can be used for monitoring buffs and buffing. HealBots appearance can be configured and preferred appearances can be saved as skins. HealBot can show party/tanks/checked targets/extras in a raid, extras can be filtered and sorted. Use up to 10 frames for grouping players, a skins appearance settings can be altered per frame. Healbot skins and be shared externally with others, check out the. HealBot can show incoming heals and absord affects. HealBot has a SmartCast out of combat option, to auto heal, buff, debuff or res.”

*Bartender: “Full ActionBar replacement mod. It provides you with all the features needed to fully customization most aspects of your action and related bars.”

*WeakAuras: “WeakAuras is a powerful and flexible framework that allows the display of highly customizable graphics on World of Warcraft’s user interface to indicate buffs, debuffs, and other relevant information. This addon was created to be a lightweight replacement for Power Auras but has since introduced more functionalities while remaining efficient and easy to use.”

*Quartz: “Quartz is a modular approach to a casting bar addon (Player, target, buffs, flight, GC, interrupt, latency, mirror, range, swing, timer and trade skill merge).”

*Moveanything: “Enables you to move, scale, hide and adjust transparency of just about any screen element in WoW, offering tools to help you customize your UI. Some other frame modifications are also possible using MA’s Frame Editors (Introduced in 11.b2), including framestrata, frame grouping and more.”

*H.H.T.D: “In World of Warcraft healers have to die. This is a cruel truth that you’re taught very early in the game. This add-on helps you influence this unfortunate destiny in a way or another depending on the healer’s side…”

*Enemygrid: “Similar to Final Fantasy XIV ‘Enemy List’ feature, Enemy Grid creates a unit frame showing mobs around you and it also includes cast bars and debuffs.”

*STUF: “Shows player frames for different situations, includes Player, pet and pet target, Target, target of target and target of target of target, Focus and target of focus, Party with their pets and targets, Arena with their pets and targets. StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target.”

*Coordinates: “This add-on displays your current position in x,y coordinates above your mini map and on the world map. You can also view the x,y coordinate position on the world map that is under your mouse cursor.”

*Spy: “The Spy addon scans for enemy players and announces their presence when they are detected. By warning you about nearby enemy players you can prepare for possible PvP combat.”

*InstancePortals: “Displays dungeon & raid instance portal locations, and their entry level requirement, on the world map & zone maps Clicking a portal will take you to the Encounter Journal for that dungeon/raid.”

*Parrot: “Displays combat (damage, healing, auras) events as well as other events (loot, cooldown available, power change, repuation, kills, and more) as moving text and numbers across the screen. Parrot also offers a trigger system to display messages and play sounds in reaction to a variety of things, like gaining a buff or dodging an attack.”

*AtlasLoot: “AtlasLoot Enhanced is an UI mod allowing for loot tables of bosses to be browsed whenever needed within the game.”

*BattleGroundEnemies: “A lightweight Addon to show you all enemies, allies and important player-specific information in a battleground.”

*Enhanced BG Zone Map: “This addon takes an approach to draw a map in individual frame. (It’s currently not working however used to show a bunch of very useful information). If this one can’t be remade then I’d go with REporter or Battleground map.”

*CursorTrail: “Uses a built-in, animated model to produce a glowing effect around the cursor and a bright trail when the mouse is moved.”

Pretty sure Healbot will NOT be in classic.

I believe a version of healbot was available during Vanilla.

Ah, not sure about that - I didn’t heal until WOTLK.

Blizzard has said they want to remove addons that are similar in nature to healbot.

Didn’t see that post T_T. If Healbot/ other healing addons aren’t available for healers I’m probably going to play rogue.

How is Healbot good for vanilla in any capacity?

I’m glad they’re breaking addons like this and decursive.

The only addons I will end up using are the quest tracker one and bartender.

I always liked Atlasloot, and a coordinates addon will be essential for finding obscure items and quest locations. Otherwise, I’ll probably be mostly bare. Maybe a DPS/Threat meter, but I’m not planning on using Carbonite or anything to that effect.

Necrosis or another DoT timer would be fantastic. Something to make tracking 3+ DoTs on as many targets feasible.

Vanilla had addons? Don’t know what you mean by this?

MoveAnything! is the only addon that I absolutely need

I can’t stand having the player/target portraits up at the top left and the minimap at the top right.

I need them both down in the center bottom

DOT timers are a necessity

My main was a warlock in vanilla. Servitude & Gatherer are the only addons I remember by name. There was a really good bars addon whose creator stopped supporting it, started with an N I think. It let me collect all my buttons into a compact rectangle and would swap all rows out when I pressed a modifier key, so I could get maximal use of keyboard shortcuts.

I had an addon that let me swap gear sets with the push of a button and would swap between +shadow, +fire, or general damage from fight to fight. I doubt that sort of thing will be allowed any more.

I could be wrong, I thought I remembered using decursive(SP) you could just spam to remove DOT from friendlies. Thought I remembered using that during MC.

Don’t know what your replying too? I was talking to the guy who said no changes.

May be a good thing that they are being more strict on certain addons for Classic. Will make it a more fresh experience.

The original iteration of Healbot (and Decursive) won’t be in WOW: Classic. The earliest ones using the API of the time could pretty much automate gameplay, such that a player didn’t have to figure out who needed healing or who needed a status removed - the addon did that.

Blizzard broke that during vanilla, and Healbot stuck around without the automation as a combined raid grid and click-to-heal addon. (I used it during BC while raiding and even while grouping in dungeons, with all sorts of key combinations for heals, buffs, debuffs, and more. I switched to Clique and another grid addon later, and the functions were about the same.)

I would expect, given the discussion of addons that happened at BlizzCon’s panel, that those or similar addons would be available - but built on the modern addon API so no automation and only what the original had available.

Decursive was originally a “spam one button and the add-on will do everything to remove debuffs for you” add-on.

Blizzard “broke” decursive. They did so pretty quickly, if I remember correctly.
