I’m all for not having any add-ons, but until the developers enforce that for everyone, I’m not trying to play the game at a huge disadvantage/with a huge handicap [e.g., I’m not trying to ice skate uphill/play handicapped against others using weak auras, gladius, omniCD, etc., all for the sake of taking some pointless moral stance against add-ons].

I use most necessary addons , however im old and can’t for the life of me figure out how to make weak auras work. And I dont have the time really to invest in learning it. Ban weakauras !!! But I’m biased so….
addons are not cheating. your definition of cheating is inaccurate regardless if you believe it. until Msoft provides all the information necessary in the default UI, addons and weakauras will be used and acceptable.

the cursor weak auras are simply better than what Msoft provides. totem color change or highlight are necessary to avoid nameplate bloat for DPS.

I don’t recall anyone complaining about addons to such an extent before the whole streamer anti-addon movement in recent years.

I remember back with WSG was released and I would guard the flagroom on my hunter throwing flares and traps AND had my combat window open watching for the rogue to apply a poison to their dagger because then I knew that they were in the room with me.
Addon’s are fine, they just funnel information that the game provides to the player in a cleaner way.
All combat addons need to be banned
weak auras especially needs to be axed.
Addons have also not been as powerful as they are now. Gladiatorlossa got memed on every time it was used pre legion. Tons of addons were memed back then because LAN wouldn’t let you use them.
WAs are now all but required to push in to any high level bracket in this game, which is in equal parts blizzard’s fault

AVR was perhaps the most powerful addon ever created, and it was used (and disabled by Blizzard) in retail Wrath.
In fact, it was so powerful that Blizzard took its core functionality and baked it into the game. You notice that every ability a boss or mob does has a clear outline of where it will land? Thank AVR for that.

I was a young boy in wrath, but I vaguely remember how people were happy it was removed from retail.
I also remember Blizzard taking the stance that some addons were way too much in 2016~ and adjusting the way WAs interacted w/boss mechanics due to it.

Once upon a time. I miss it but I got too old and skill level is way worse than me being just average before.

Rogue/Mage single handedly kept me from pvp in general, or wanting to push it for like 6 years, and made me quit in 4 different seasons…
