Addon to replace RDF

We need somebody to build an addon that will replace RDF.

Shouldnt be hard.

1: Check level and display what dungeons they would be a good match for.
2: Have a check box for role - validate class to make sure they can be that role.
3: Once there are 5 people that fill the roles for the dungeon, pop up a message saying a group is formed.
4: Click a button 4 times to invite the other 4 people.
still have to go to the dungeon.
can ignore people out of the addon so you dont group with them anymore

won’t work. RDF without cross-server instancing doesn’t solve the server pop and “every level” problems. I agree we need a better tool than the one on the PTR though.

the one on Beta is literally the same as in TBC classic “prettied” up. Useless

I posted this weeks ago but no one did it.

You’d think some entrepreneurial computer nerd would spend 1/12th the time complaining on the forums about it and would be building an AddOn like this, but alas, it doesn’t happen.

Hell, they could make it GRDF and you’d pay gold for the summon, too.

My friend has almost finished his. You can’t queue as an individual, but this addon will form a group using people who have put themselves in the lfg tool for the activity you are looking for.

It will then shoot an invite and a whisper, telling them what the invite is for.

looks like a good start.

I hope to see something equated to Openraid. use to use that a lot back in MoP days. But that looks pretty good for a start. Really not a fan of the bulletin board addon i was using before.

Id be interested to see how it manages dps who set role pas tank or healer

But looks promising

As a software engineer this a hard pass, never would recommend client for anyone.

You want something built? Offer payment. You here openly expecting someone to step ahead and do it for free is insulting.

“Shouldn’t be easy” you are welcome to learn Lua and do it yourself.

OP is a reflection of all that is wrong with the modern consumer.

Well I get that.

I get a huge idea sometimes to add a feature to my UI Profile, dig into some examples and other bits of code and then think. . Nope. . It’s working now. Leave it alone Brick. Leave it alone

And then I hope I did not make all my changes on my main git branch and screw up my release cadence. . Don’t ask me how I fear that.

Man I miss Openraid!

I agree with your stance and sentiment, however I’m just curious what about the hundreds of other add-ons that are free?

They are free. But the time a dev puts into them isn’t. They may volunteer that time due to a passion or wanting to give back to the community, but it is time that could be used on a project that earns them a living.

Some authors are fortunate enough to make a living due to ad revenue from the distro sites, which I wish would get less of a cut and more to the authors. But most of us just do it because it’s something to do or solve.

I do not pretend to have the ability to speak for Quoverse, but I think his point was that you can’t just expect someone to pick it up because you want it. If you do, do it yourself. Wich OP is doing and that is a win!!

there was a functional Looking For Group addon in vanilla classic but the anti-rdf crowd whined so Blizzard broke the api to break the addon

Same way it works in rdf probably. Kick them and refill. With the added bonus of not having to wait for a votekick.
