I won’t bore you with a long story, just know I am probably just being paranoid and am genuinely asking from an ignorant perspective, and, am someone that accepts defeat and doesn’t seek excuses, and who uses the sting of losing to focus on getting better.
I’ll describe first the symptoms I am seeing, then thoughts.
(Disclaimer: reread first section on ‘not knowing’ and ‘not looking for excuses’)
(Why): (a) To gain an immediate advantage, especially vs. stealth classes; (b) to gain an additional advantage by making opponents play without Weak Auras (is very important to many ppl); (c) to gain a third advantage vs. teams with normal/slower computers by using their slower reload (some take a long time to reload, match could easily be over before they can log back in)
(Symptoms): (1) Enter arena → (2) Weak Aura fails → (3) Game is unplayable until reload (4) → Even if with a good(fast) computer, you still load back in at a disadvantage with the other team right on top of you → (5) Have to play without WeakAuras, the 2nd disadvantage ((which is a big deal for many people, especially me, tracking all my major HoTs))
(Reasons): (1) Infrequent, WeakAuras works 99% of the time; (2) When this happens, the team is already on top of you, like they knew it was going to happen (some ppl charge in, I agree. This by itself is not enough); (3) Ease to do. This would not require much skill and could simply be someone exploiting a security hole in the addon, than anything more nefarious; (4) Hard to detect.
(Summary:) I have no proof of this. I am sure my logic is full of holes. This is why I bring it to you all to tell me this is normal addon stuff, or this happens to you but you think I’m just being paranoid. I am genuinely wanting to know so I can just reload the addon and go on with my day, accepting its just a part of life
Just…reload before the match starts?
I do. And I have a fast comp…but… vs. the specific teams when this happens, every time I reload back in they are already on top of me and I lose the ability to stealth and I immediately have to start trying to live which makes it hard to reload again and get WeakAuras back ( they act atypical, like they know it was going to happen ). I stated I was likely being paranoid to think this, but it happens enough for it to stand out ‘as strange’, especially since most teams will wait a sec to size the opponents up.
Its a big disadvantage to start that way as a stealthier, and as a healer. And there are ppl without fast comps doing rated matches, with 30 sec reload times
If somebody is inactive then they’re going to at least get prodded.
O, and the addon never bugs out until right when the doors open

Right. I get it. But whenever I reload back, they are up on me in a way that means they sprinted right for me…which is rare. Charging an rDruid who isnt in stealth right off is how you get CC’d (…unless they had to reload, which wouldnt be evident). This is why most ppl will just stand back
No, if there’s an rdruid just chilling in the starting room out of stealth and who hasn’t hotted anybody then they’re getting run over.
Thats fair, but as a rDruid, its really advantageous to be able put large HoT icons with big CD #'s, anywhere on my screen. Im more curious if others experience this
Maybe one of your weakauras is bugged?
Or it’s a conflict with another addon that you’re using?
There’s absolutely lots of reason why my paranoid thinking can be wrong. It just abnormal enough in a way that stands out to me that made me come here to ask other ppl about it.
Just tweak or disable addons until things aren’t as broken.
Bugged is possible, but its up-to-date and works 99% of the time. The lag outs seem very specific. (It works with other addons often too, and only weakauras bugs out.)
I’m on that “ask forums when you have a question because that’s the point of having forums…to have discussions about random stuff”

thats fair question but they are as basic as it gets, no additional effects or glows. I just make quick icons and move them around near my raid frames
