Sometimes facepalm is not enough. That’s what HeadDesk is for. And when it gets really extreme, there is Headwall.
What I’ve seen the last three days on Mechagon and Nazjatar general had been nearly empty except for people pulling the coral ancients and one rare call out on mech.
Hardly anyone dares speak in general now. Rares are just being solo killed from what I could tell.
It’s also interesting that I don’t see anyone asking questions or just chatting either. It’s like the addons were getting people to look at their chat box and see people asking questions and helping or realizing hey I’ll just ask here instead of looking at wowhead.
But on the other hand at least seeing the list of spare parts I’ve looted over the last 20 minutes hasn’t scrolled past my view.

Yeah I already have badboy. I got it to filter out anything that has to with selling runs. It’s awesome.

I wish I could say I’m surprised this thread is still going. Addon still works and I haven’t been silenced yet, so I’ll be going about my business as usual. Have had plenty of people whisper me though to say thx or ask me what addon I use, but have yet to receive any complaints. Weird :S
In a way I kinda agree with the addons spamming general chat. I mean this is not the first time addons have done this but for some reason I get bothered by it sometimes. I think may be when it’s the world boss or when its called out and within a second its dead so you get spammed.
Its no different from someone typing in global chat the rare is up…its just automating the process…

It is different because I call out rares all the time but I dont do it when its half hp or lower or if there are tons of people at the rare. I mean who wants to be disappointed if they are far away and get to the rare and its dead.
Idk I’ve been playing Wow since Vanilla and this is probably the first time it has come across my mind. You know it could just be me or small group of people, you get older or what not. It dont bother me to a point I would make a thread but I can understand OP.

this is a pretty poor reason to reject the notion of a chat channel for the addon messages.
note that, people can also just leave general if they feel that strongly about chat messages generated by addons.
idk. I kind of like the idea about a dedicated addon chat channel, but I think it would not be enforceable or universally used. probably people who don’t like it leaving general is the most realistic solution.

Most of us have flying…and can get there on those rares at 50% pretty easily. So yeah half health and all is still good. Unless its clear across the map, 45-50% and above I can get there before its dead, save some of the weaker rares. It isn’t a let down, its a challenge. Rares are always a challenge to get there before being killed, and the call outs save you from having to camp them.
