Apologies in advance if I’m beating an old drum since I do not frequent these forums much, but with how popular pugs are through the group finder in Dragonflight, there is a much overdue need for another class (maybe 2) with a summoning ability.
I was thinking of a bronze spell for evokers, or perhaps something for mages so raid leaders don’t feel a sense of obligation to bring a warlock along to keep a raid going by minimizing downtime.
Warlocks can and have done this a ton already so having another class who can summon folk let alone summon them off a cliff…yeah no…we don’t need more of this madness. Bad enough we gotta put a leash on the locks to not troll folk we don’t need to have to leash another class to stop them from doing it too. So yeah I agree… we don’t need another class that can summon people
Hard disagree, its not like you are forced to accept a summon. If you get trolled with a summon, I feel like that’s kind of a “you should’ve been paying attention” moment. Especially since you can easily hover over a party member and see where they are (along with seeing them on your map).
Additionally, I disagree with the idea of locking summoning behind a class that some people just may not even like. I’d say giving at least 1-3 other classes a summon would be a good thing for players and that it would make non-instanced group content (or even repair trips during a raid) more accessible.
are you kidding me right now? Typically when a guild go and does a raid they have the lock summon people to the raid and if that lock is in a different group of the raid than you you can’t just tell where they are. You shouldn’t also have to double check if the warlock is there or not or trolling to begin with so I don’t care what you have to say…we don’t need to grant another class the power to summon folks.
If its raid summons, again unless we’re talking repair summons, a lock isn’t even needed? There’ve been giant rocks outside the instances for summoning since the game started.
Also, if it is a guild event, who cares if someone does a little trolling? It’s at worst a minor inconvenience. I’m assuming your group would have 2 people at the instance to summon correctly anyways and there’s no reason for anyone currently at the instance to accept a summon unless they’re bored and what to see what happens.
I’d say give a couple more classes a summon and maybe give warlocks the ability for a mass summon so that they keep the gimmick of being the primary summoning class.
Pretty soon everyone will have every ability. And it makes classes not unique. Every class should have buffs and bubbles and levitates and fears and dispels and leaps etc. pretty soon there will be one class and one spec in the entire game. That class spec will heal dps and tank all at once.
They used to have the guild ability “have group will travel” which summoned your entire group to that persons location.
that ability was awesome during Tol Barad days… but it was quickly removed for people inviting random people and summoning them to Gurubashi free for all PVP zone. yeah i fell for that.
