Add "Trolling" to the chat report feature

someone can’t handle some banter.

I believe somebody mentioned something about a certain type of addon that can do this:

Which begs the question, Tln, if our first interaction was in the game, we wouldn’t be where we are, today. I made myself sad, thinking about it.

:broken_heart:

As someone who does nothing but discusses politics in the LFG chat, I would like for this to not be a thing. It’s our choice to discuss what we want. Quit trying to censor us. Ever heard of the first amendment?

Unfortunately, we can’t say what we want, on the Blizzard Platform:

Communication

When participating in communication of any kind (chat, voice communication, group finder), you are responsible for how you express yourself. You may not use language that could be offensive or vulgar to others.

Hate speech and discriminatory language is inappropriate, as is any obscene or disruptive language. Threatening or harassing another player is always unacceptable, regardless of language used. Violating any of these expectations will result in account restrictions. More serious and repeated violations will result in greater restrictions.

Players of WoW are not always from the U.S. Those countries are not protected by the “First Amendment”, like the U.S. is. Even then, Blizzard’s policy still relies heavily on Player Base Reports which “Squelches” (:expressionless:) your Account, “temporarily” (and if enough Players Reported you). While Blizz “looks it over” to see if your account deserves the “Silence” or not.

Have I gotten that right, now? :unamused:

WoW is not a democracy, you have no rights, other than what Blizzard grants, and Blizzard reserves the option to retract rights at any time.
The 1st amendment does not apply to private venues where you agree to the terms and restrictions before entering

LFG channel has a full name, it is LookingForGroup.
It is a server side channel, and it has a specific purpose.
Can you guess what that is?

Devolving political or religious discussions aint it.
Blizzard lets you open a channel for that if you like.
One where other people do not have to be forced to observe or participate.

Mature persons understand this, but then mature persons rarely debate those topics on the internet in communications channels that are public and designed for other specific uses, which leaves…

Yea, dont ask how the hell i typed that
anyways correcting gramatic fubar

:policeman: No problem ma’am, just trying to keep things in order around here :policeman:

Any other way, for me to make-up for my prior tickets? :kissing_heart:

Ohhhh yeah, there’s something I’ve got in mind.

About two dozen Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnuts.

This is one of my biggest complaints about the ignore list. I would love to have a note indicating whether someone was ignored for merely being annoying by the auction house or if they were ignored for being complete jerks. I’m inclined to make the first case temporary and the second one permanent.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to check out that addon.

Yes. The first amendment says that the government can’t stop you from saying what you want. This was to prevent the government from unjustly penalizing people for criticizing them. It doesn’t say that private citizens and corporations are obligated to give you a platform on which to speak, nor does it obligate them to listen to everyone’s inane rambling.

This is irrelevant. The first amendment only binds the government. It doesn’t prevent Blizzard from deciding what is and isn’t said on its own gaming platform.

You’re right, it’s dictated by the players.

Flagged as trolling

I think you have to click the flag on my post for it to actually flag it.

Though i am not sure trolling is the right option

Interacting with people good or bad is part of an mmo.
People being a dick sometimes is part of the experience.

With Blizzard as the final arbiter. The players report, Blizzard decides.
