That kind of paints an inaccurate description of the situation. Only the best of those “brand new players” will remain at 1800 (or climb beyond it)…and those are likely to be somewhat decently geared alts of more veteran players. Many of those starting at 1800 mmr will fall quite a bit, before climbing back up…if they climb back up to that rating at all.
You’re not going to be playing soley “brand new players”.
2300 is just about where the current cutoff for the old school gladiator title (top .5%) is in 3s right now. That is pretty damn low compared to what it historically is and was.
Well, I mean it’s all in the eye of the beholder. You’re literally within the top .01% of the best players in the country so I imagine, 2.2k-2.4k does “feel” that way to you.
Nah when you get a bm hunter on ur team that’s 2350mmr and only lands 1 freezing trap in a 3 minute round when nobody is attacking him the whole game then it becomes less of a feeling and more of a fact.
The amount of people fighting R1’s and their alts @ X mmr is mathematically impossible.
There’s reports of these R1’s at all mmr, all day, non stop, everyone is playing against and getting farmed. For this to be a true, R1 rating would have to encompass anyone above Rival and that’s being generous.
I guess you’re just not good at math then. Consider that this mmr system has driven off all but the most hardcore players, meaning the remaining pool has a higher percentage of R1’s. I literally went up against Petkick 10 minutes ago (check is stream) at 2100cr… He of course went 6-0 and every other dps lost rating. What a rewarding system!
