consequently, the community really needs to learn what trolling actually is, because lately it’s anything someone says that they don’t like.
bgs are raids?
and that is entirely the reason gear matters again. personally i think templates worked better, undergeared players were scaled up, but the cries of the " i want gear to matter so i can pwn noobs" crowd won this xpac. again, deal with it.
i get the point of your suggestion, but it would cause more problems than it solves, if you notice they removed the healer balancing mechanic from the queue system again, they had to, players where unsubbing over 20 minute queue times. this means that the majority of players care more about lower queue times than they do about having a balanced game.
Yep, the RNG does suck, that has been said posts ago and in other forums. Blizzard is pushing players into raiding for gear and I hear from people that do not want to do that. So they do WQs, warfront and random BGs for their gear. Some people just do not get that, they believe everyone has some much time for this game. Not every one is a hardcore raider or get into every aspect of the game.
it worked well for this in legion, i managed to get my toon up to 930 which was enough to get into antorus and get even better ilvl. but this isn’t legion anymore and crying about how things should be doesn’t change how they are now. if you want gear, you PVE, otherwise you just put up with getting rolled until you have enough gear to stand on your own.
1v1’s are some of the most fun battles in bg’s, I remember those far more than the generic group combat. Tons of players join bg’s looking for exactly those 1v1 situations, because they provide lots of dopamine, a rush or thrill of victory.
All we can do is put forth suggestions, debate them and see if Blizzard will use some of them. Until then all we can do grin and bear it or unsub until the next expansion. And with that, I’m off to bed. Good night.
i certainly noticed it in ebgs, we went from long queues and balanced healers back to the standard queue times and massively imbalanced heals. not that it mattered. because you can outplay both gear and healer diparities.
1v1 matters if you are the sole person spinning a node until help arrives, however, if you are undergeared, don’t be that guy, stick with the main group.
Yep. I do agree there and it’s on the team to be aware of who is sitting. Same goes with healers, don’t stick your healers on nodes. That’s what we call smart BG play.
the difference being that level cap gearing is dynamic, part of playing is the continuous process of gearing your toon, the shift in how it plays as gear and bonuses change and how you adapt to them is what it is about. adding ilvl brackets will do nothing but promote twinking at level cap. if the cutoff is 400 then you will have a ton of players sitting at 399.99 just to go pugstomp new players at 300. the current model means that there is some 415 M+ runner there to counter that.
further, as the expansion moves along, players will get catchup gear via afkfronts and M+ much easier, so the sub 400 bracket will quickly become a ghost town, and fresh 120s will have the same problem as xp off twinks.
Lol I agree with the honor for gear thing but this has nothing to do with the op of the topic. Random bgs are random. Not winning has more to do with the player than your teams ilvl.
Are you going to lose a few because your team has a low ilvl? Absolutely. You’re also going to win some for the very same reason, it’s random and the other team will suck and have a low ilvl.
I won 4 of 7 on my fresh 300ilvl human spriest. I played smart and got lucky with teams. Separating based on ilvl is a terrible idea that achieves absolutely nothing.
