Juga, as a hypothetical: Let’s say that I’m fighting an unholy DK with the gladiator achievement but he only has 150K HP. He’s getting heals from a resto druid keeping him alive but the resto druid leaves when he is at 100% health and I’m at 30% health.
I agree with this. I have been in so many BGs were one side has over 200k health and the other barely has 150k. Blizzard needs to bring back PvP gear. Right now, casual players are screwed since people who raid are pwning BGs with the higher ilvl gear. Blizzard is making casual players leave this game in droves. Remember when WoW had over 12 million subscribers. Now they are barely over 5 million and dropping. Soon only the hard core raiders will be left which probably fine with them but Blizzard will not be making the money they once were unless they continue to micro-transactions which is driving players away too.
what talents? for unholy what works well in arena is not what works well in bgs. if he was running reanimation it doesn’t matter what his ilvl is he will hit the same if the zombies connect.
I agree, people with 78k health and still wearing quest greens have no business being in the same bgs as Mythic raider DPSers with 220-230k health. They really should add a “minimum” iLvL to be able to queue up for max level 120 random bgs. It only makes sense since even bottom-tier LFR has an iLvL threshold for being able to queue up.
Let’s be honest, if you are wearing quest greens and only have 78k health you’re not helping/contributing to your team at all - you’re just free kills for the enemy with such low stats
In a DWG today, a rogue and Hunter with 200k + health took Panda away.
I didn’t arrive in time to stop the cap, but I did arrive with both of them around 35% health. I’m at 175k.
I managed to kill them without getting into any serious danger and had enough time to defend the base.
The scaling feels super weird right now. I don’t know if I could have done it last week when I was at 365 instead of 380. Maybe I could have. Maybe it wouldn’t have been closer.
Play an FPS then, this is WoW, an RPG, the more you play, the stronger you become, and the more of an advantage you have. That’s literally the purpose of playing an RPG, it’s not to be on an even playing field, you want to be even, then work for it.
If all you enjoy doing in WoW is BGs, then you have to do your time and get that gear. It’s your job as a tenured and geared player to look out for those with less time/gear invested. Help them learn the ropes and pick up their slack. That’s literally how a team works. These are randoms, not rateds. You want to play with all pros with awesome gear? Then do rateds!
my job is not to cover players who have no interest in investing time and effort into their toon. templates worked just fine, there is no reason to have gear matter in pvp. pvp should be based on skill alone. gear can matter for pve content.
If the Blue PVP gear was around 375 ilevel I think it would be a lot better IMO. Not as good as PVE gearing methods but a lot more viable for PVP. 360 is too low for blue PVP gear.
What should they call these bgs when they make all of these changes? Should they give 10 options to queue for? Freshie, scrub, twink, random, bg geared, mythic geared, raid geared, rated, hero, pro??
While not solid “proof” that you want, I took my friend who is honor level 9 with me and I’m level 142. We went to the big boys club (the higher honor level). I felt kinda bad since she was just walking into PvP.
Suggesting responsibility, when you have no say in your supposed teammates (or their actions), results in negligible growth… That is to say, they have to want to learn, but do you really want someone lecturing you in a random bg? We all know how that goes… There are very few players even willing to take advice, and even fewer that do research outside the game.
Secondly, I must disagree with your definition of teamwork. To “pick up their slack,” as you put it, implies to me that I should be grateful for the “opportunity” to carry players such as the druid in my OP.
No, under the random bg system what we have is NOT “team work,” what we have is more akin to driving a car; everyone has a personal goal/destination in mind, and at best, our means of reaching w/e that goal is happens to be the same (kill boss, cap flag, defend 3 bases, etc)… It is to that end, most of us do our best not to run each other off the road (ruin the game).
how many classes genuinely play different if you stack your own stats over the templates? IMO templates should return, there is tons of customization in talents and azerite traits already.
No templates forced talent choices because of stat distribution. That is why it is gone IMO.
But if WoW had devs with IQs above 70 they would give you several template builds to choose from based on stat allocation (mastery build, haste build, versa build, etc). But since that is not the case…
Also disabling of trinkets wasn’t a good idea either as it lead to more balance problems.
