Before all the anti-everything and gatekeeping people come to ad hominem this topic into the dirt, lets have a discussion.
Why are you against dungeon finder?
Why are you for it?
The main reasons I see people arguing against dungeon finder are because they say it will “ruin the social experience of the game” or that it will somehow not have the same “essence of classic tbc.”
These arguments can easily be countered. Dungeon finder wont stop you from creating your own social experiences with people and you will still be free to spam chat all day looking for that tank. As for the “essence” of the game, is that something you can quantify that players will agree with or is it something you made up in your head based on memories?
Here are some reasons to support dungeon finder for TBC classic
-Wow players like to gatekeep. That is a simple fact. Dungeon finder will remove a large aspect of that from certain dungeons that drop prebis items (BM, SP)
-Questing can quickly become a chore when it comes to leveling, DF provides an alternative
-Dungeon gear significantly helps lower level players quest
-DF would almost certainly destroy the boosting meta clearing up our chat channels from boost spammers
-DF at max level will be a catch up tool for alts and late joiners
-Outland dungeons are fun to spam (imo)
-Saves huge amounts of time for those dads with 3 wifes and 17 kids who can only play 10 minutes a week
Keep the discussion civil please and provide your input. Do you see aditional benefits of DF tool or possible negatives?
EDIT: this is not sarcasm the dad thing was just a joke I really want DF in tbc

It has one that makes groups , they just dont transport you I think… I think meeting stones start working too… but someone enlighten me.

burning crusade was not designed to cater to people who don’t have time to do even the most basic content. if you don’t have time to do heroics you won’t have time to attune yourself, you have retail where things are much faster and LFR, I would point you in that direction

So you cannot even provide one reason for me that dungeon finder would be bad for the game?
I was foolish to think you were being genuine and not looking for an argument. Ah well. +1 to the ignore list. Shame.

So if we go all the way back to WOTLK, when dungeon finder came out; it honestly felt like the best thing ever. I still remember the week it came out; it went from spamming in the main city “VH LF TANK + 1 DPS” for 15 minutes till we got a full group to oh this little button thing i click on takes me to the dungeon and i dont have to spam anything.
It felt great; it felt amazing and at the time people loved it. I still remember paying a tank and getting quick ques straight in to gear up some of my alts; me and my friends would also still use it in the sense of getting a fury warrior to tank while we stack 3 arcane mages and have me healing as resto druid just to get to the entrance.
This is not how it is used today; today you get into a group and it is somehow an invitation to let loose on some random stranger. I dont really think it fits into TBC, the only reason is that while yes its a great tool; i feel the community has changed too much; TBC was never about go go spam, at least not for me.

I think the group finder they are using for TBC:C is going to be perfect. No need for RDF. I hope they don’t add it in WotLK:C.

I like dungeon finder and I think it has done great things for wow. I don’t think its right for TBC but it could be for a remastered version of TBC, it all depends on which changes people are ok with and which they are not.
I think at a minimum cross realm instance groups should be a thing via the LFG tool.
The meeting stones work fine in Classic, as meeting stones. In TBC, the work as summoning stones

I would add it if subs dropped after release but mostly against the teleport. Just make the group, put in the layer, and let them head to the dungeon.

I disagree. TBC requires you to dungeon spam until you unlock heroics.

This is true, there is another issue that comes with dungeon finder style spam.
If a tank has a bad pull or does something a little dumb; they get vote kicked; wait a few minutes and continue on. Without dungeon finder; you essentially wipe; run back and attempt it again. You dont kick someone at the first sign of an issue, because you would then need to go back to the main city and re-spam to replace that person.
This is why communities formed; because when you found good players; you stuck with them, you wanted to do more content with them. Its not just a number; its an actual person.
I have had a recent experience leveling as a holy paladin; we did halls of lightening and at the last boss we wiped; the tank proceeded to abuse the crap out of me and i ended up getting kicked. So feeling defeated; i went back to questing and signed up for another dungeon 10 minutes later. Surprise i get into the same group; except this time its a new tank. Previous tank left and another healer had left in that time; we proceeded to finish the boss with ease.
Things like that never happened before group finder; at least not to me because i mainly ran my own groups.

Fair point. However, this is a side effect of being paired with random people. Without dungeon finder the group can simply gatekeep people with less gear than they want. Forming social communities can still be done with DF. If you want to converse with players in your group nothing stops you from doing that.
exactly, I agree with your experience. It happened to me too I get kicked from lfg finder group because I pull aggro as hunter by accident and wipe group. easily replaceable I guess? then for group finder easy solution.
though I am against it in tbc classic because I Just think its nice to do dungeons with actual people and have their personalities show with maybe a mistake here and there but we still get through the dugeon. persevere one would say. the community aspect is strong in classic, its nice to run into someone you are leveling with.

We you can vote kick people out of a group in group finder or whatever they’re using? That’s … awful.
I’m assuming group finder is just like … uhm dungeon finder without the teleport thing?
And is it confirmed for TBC?
