It is so annoying having 25 players get 1 hardmode item per boss (Minus algalon).
Yes this is great for gdkp as it keeps the prices high but I don’t care that much when out of 9 hardmodes 4 of them drop my loot and of the 4, there is a low chance that the hardmode loot actually drop my loot, on top of that I am competing with other people in the raid.
Mathematically this doesn’t make sense. I know the devs designed it so everyone won’t have full BIS but it’s annoying to clear the hardest content week after week and know it might be several months before my items drop.
Dropping one piece of loot will increase the odds that you continue raiding until ToC comes out. After a point, the more accessible loot is, the more the game suffers.
I know right, I wish they’d just add a token where I could pay 10 dollars for a piece of hard mode gear and not have to waste my time playing at all. Hopefully soon!
Yeah, I actually think today’s Protocal Alpha w/ Naxx gear will turn into Protocol Beta w/ Ulduar gear.
And Uld will indeed get same treatment as Naxx did.
But the only outstanding question is in regards of Fragments. Will they really allow Frags to drop from 10m? Like, as someone who is at 10/30 only after 6 lockouts, I think it’d be too much to let it drop from 10m
People pre bid the item if they drop its theirs bro.
I don’t have time to breakdown the whole gdkp system and how RMT is involved but just know a lot of people are aware including blizzard and they just don’t care.
One oil prince and 24 hardcore raiders = match made in heaven
Probably a bit of an unrealistic expectation that everyone or most in your raid group are going to be full bis by phase 3 though without a few groups for splits. Blizzard is trying to extend the relevance of Ulduar into phase 3 which was their reason for the ilvl bump on Ulduar gear.
My 10m group has gotten enough daggers to kit out an army of rogues between Steelbreaker and Thorim HM. I wish Ulduar had some sort of trade system like SWP where you could trade a runed orb and a piece of HM loot for something else on the bosses loot table. That SWP system was kind of a hot mess from a planning aspect though.
Definitely worth being in a guild that does splits if this is something they really concerns you. While you can’t change the chance your loot drops you can create raid compositions in a way that funnels loot to certain individuals.
