I think a mode like this would be nice because it would essentially be an unchanging evergreen feature. Healers set the pace of pvp, giving it its ups and downs, but an all dps mode would offer consistency across time. If you que up for something like that you know what you’re getting yourself into, you don’t have to take into consideration the power of healers in what ever update you’re playing on. Simply zug.
I imagine a lot of people have found success playing with healers in pvp so any feedback will be negative. but i know there are a lot of people like me that just want to zug it out with some dps homies without a healer coming along to top off one of the competing parties.
Try Fortnite no build, Pubg, Helldivers, Counterstrike, etc. These are good games to play with the homies.
This idea to exclude healers from content needs to stop lol. All it does is make the game even more degenerate, by devolving the game into a matter of which fotm dps specs can offheal more and/or delete someone faster.
also, the legendary slurp meta was one of the worst i’ve ever played. people just popping it and healing to full, which further lends to my point here.
yea but it already happened with tanks, so why not healers? some ppl hate healers in pvp as much as ppl hate tanks.
yea i think a mode like this may have some hybrids shine based on how good their healer spec is at the time but other non hybrid classes would be able to compete, no doubt. like they always have in things like duels.
I played one game of build, and then didn’t play fortnite again until they came out with no build, and now I think fortnite is awesome. I just don’t have any interest to invest a bunch of time learning to have strategic seizures to be competitive (e.g., this is what it looks like to me when I watch fortnite pros playing build mode lol).
Fair enough, but I still wouldn’t get my hopes up. The game is built around having healers, and I don’t think there is any incentive for Blizzard to change that and/or to exclude specs that are already relatively scarcely played from content.
Then the healer-hating dps that don’t play with these hybrids will naturally want a mode with just no healing period, because hybrids are going to in effect just take over the healer role, and the only non-hybrids that will be competitive are going to be the ones with strong self healing/tankiness (and of course rogues due to their ability to easily reset).
At the end of the day, I think this is a “you think you do but you don’t” situation.
Idk, there are a lot of classes where it feels like you have to play with a healer or they are just dysfunctional. You know, the ones that you just run over in double dps games that can never establish themselves.
yea the skill ceiling is insane, to me it looks like art at the top level xD literally painting pictures with builds while ooking people in their dookers, to quote a monkey man from MoP.
id be ok with this. almost mentioned it in the OP. much happier with a hybrid coming along and toping people off over a healer doing so.
yea if a mode like this were to happen the tier list would have those classes on the lower end, which i think is fine. some classes are good with healers and maybe fall over without them. i think it would just incentivize people to get good at classes that should be bad in mode like this.
Everyone can be for that mode but what would happen is prot pallys and tanks would enter the fight. When that happens is all you’ll see is people complaining. I’d rather have healers
Not a bad idea at all. The influx in healers would largely improve the other DPS’s queue anyway. It would just find a new equilibrium based on the queue times that people are willing to tolerate.
Theres really just two scenarios. People either won’t play those classes at all, as they’d not just be bad, they would be impossible to exist on, or blizzard introduces some incentive to queue the bracket and then people will complain endlessly about balance. but we cant balance around a meme bracket.
Im not like vehemently against it, but ill say that there are already A LOT of game modes to be queuing, and this idea cannot be added to ranked. it just cant. so now we’re just back to arena skirms without the occasional 3v3.
Pretty much, but its just not well thought out since nobody will really queue those specs into it lol. Itll just be a melee cleave pile with some of the select casters that perform well in double dps
