Actually Having Fun?

Cata has surprised me so far. Classes are so much more fun to play than in Wrath imo. Not that wrath is bad, but this just feels more like a Wrath+ than retail like how people claim it to be…

I haven’t really tried anything other than hunter so far. I don’t know that it was a good idea to start learning hunter late in Wrath just before Cata as there are a lot of changes, going from Mana to Focus, as well as losing Volley.

Will prob have a completely different perspective when I finally hop onto one of my Wrath Classic mains if they ever let us queue arena skirms!

:woman_shrugging:

Right now my gameplay is centered on digging holes for a shiny sword so its a bit hard to tell

Remember with current ICC gear crit/haste and healing is at a much higher percentage than it will be for the first 2 phases of Cata. So for most classes when we get to cata, things will bog down, but still fun to play for sure.

As a warlock main who has leveled until 72 during WoD and a month before Legion’s launch (“retail” at the time) and when Cataclysm was considered the “worst expansion,” it’s actually REALLY fun right now. I just leveled my Worgen hunter through the starting zone, but I will say the “Battle for Gilneas” quest is still a buggy mess if there are other players present since it will teleport you into the instance with other players.

One thing I’ll definitely miss from pre-cata are quests where you have to travel to faraway zones, as well as class quests (that Stormwind to Camp Taurajo and Ashenvale quest just for a Succubus was an adventure is etched into my soul). So, this expansion has compartmentalized quests within their respective zones, which is what I don’t care for, but it may be useful for people who want to level faster.

I will say that at least enemies still take an effort to kill (at least in Northrend). In WoD, I remember being able to just OHKO literal non-dungeon boss quests with a Chaos Bolt.

As for warlock rotations (I haven’t done raids yet, but I’ve done some dungeons). I kind of do prefer the PvE rotation for warlocks pre-cata (SB, Haunt, UA, Corruption, CoA, with occasional SoC). During Cata, you now press a whopping 6 buttons (SB, Curse of the Elements, Haunt, UA, Corruption, Bane of Agony). Drain life was definitely nerfed here too, but I’ll get used to it!

The only thing I’ve heard is PvE enemies was be nerfed into oblivion during the second half of the expansion when it came out (which I hope won’t be the case).

I will say though that there will be people who prefer this expansion over pre-cata material, and it’s total valid. I personally preferred the inconveniences of pre-cata stuff (like actually going to trainers to learn powerful spells, weapon skills, getting soulshards for pets and soulstones and healthstones, etc).

Hope to get into my first raid this expansion though. Hope y’all are having fun!

Based Oldtomatoes looool I hope you get that glorious Sword my dude
