Actual Zone size comparison so you stop screaming about the 80% reduction

From an actual Blizzard interview: http://youtu.be/UjZ_8x9odgM?t=1888

If the time stamp didn’t work, fast forward to 31:25.

Westfall is 9 “Zone Chuncks” in a 3x3 square–meaning it is 3 Zone Chunks to get from one side to the other.

The Azure Span is over 100 Zone Chunks in total and it is 16 Zone Chunks to get from one side to the other. In other words, 80% of 830% increase flight speed in ridiculously smaller zones is perfectly fine.

You’ll get from stormwind to booty bay faster than Valdrakken to the Tuskar village lol.

I love seeing the tables turned and now get to hear the DF trolls cry over a speed drop.

I get what they’re saying but old world zones are 100% irrelevant to the game so who cares if you can zip through them quickly?

Then…why are you there?

We get it you work for them let me tell you , you are not a good dev this is not it.

Who cares if you go 1200% speed or 830% speed? It’s still twice as fast as static flying. And this is exactly what Soar has had since day one in old world.

We get it, you have no logic and just came here troll.

1200% speed is more than 830%.

LOL thinking you can tell that much with dragonriding. Have fun losing yourself to fatigue over the water in 5 seconds flat.

Soar has been like this since day one. You’ll live.

I can fly tight circles at full speed. It’s not hard.

In Dragon Isles, sure. Have fun doing that in Westfall.

Y’all are outraged for nonsensical reasons. But hey, it’s GD. I expect nothing less than illogical outrage.

Try to have a better day.

Who said anything about outrage?

That is such a cool way to put it in context. Another is to ride your ground mount from the tuskarr village to Camp Antonidas. Or hell, go by foot.

Wasnt the ungoro race doing a full lap around the circular zone in like a minute? I wonder how quick you can go from top to bottom of either continent. I imagine it’s pretty quick even with reduced speed

Honestly, dragonriding in the Isles would probably feel a bit more sluggish if they didn’t tone down the speed in old zones a bit. Speed is relative, and we’re going to be zipping through zones at a much faster rate even with the 20% reduction.

I really think it’s more about stability than anything else. When they first implemented 310 a lot of people were dealing with crashes and dcs.
Regardless it’s the new fotm thing for general to whine about. It’s a non-issue.

I dont buy Blizz’s excuse…

I bet there are architect issues somehwere.

That the old expacs just cant handle loading areas fast enough.
