Activision Stock Drop 5%

and when you look at that trend line from 2 years ago you notice that the stock price is just back to where it was 2 years ago. All that profit went bye bye and they still are not back to where they were 2 years ago. 0 growth in 2 years. As an investor if I look at that trend line and then I hear expansion ship date is going to slip, well that might be good for the expansion but for my wallet Im probably looking elsewhere to diversify.

What is good for the long-term health of the game a lot of times doesn’t look good to shareholders.

Delays are a good thing, rushed products to meet arbitrary deadlines are not.

The stock is dropping because the previous price was based on an unrealistic assessment of how ready the expansion was.

Refunds, they have to count them as future loses.

Potentially a good time to buy and hold until the expansion release for an easy profit

A lot of stocks dropped today due to the news of the President and first lady having Covid. Lots of things impact the market. It’s pretty fragile.

Thats the funny part. I think that it probably is one and the same
but I think blizzard is so interested in the short term numbers that they cant get their heads wrapped around Making Azeroth Great Again well enough to just stop with the annoying systems and give top quality content instead.
Id give up every system in the game just to have a stuff to explore, mogs to hunt, mounts to farm, cool dungeons instead of these kiddie rides, etc.

Perception is everything. The dollar only has value because we say and believe it does.

Actually the market itself is very robust. Volatile? Yes. Fragile? Hardly. The difference is that Fragile means that sudden movements can fracture or break the market. As we have seen over the past 4 years it is very resilient and fairly inoculated against sudden jarring movements breaking it beyond repair.

Because stockholders dont hold the same opinion, but you gotta remember - they are just that, stockholders, NOT players. They put $$ in to get more $$ back. They do not care about players suffering with poor content. It is good for us, bad for them.

I don’t know. Go through every single drop on this chart and tell me precisely which decision for this single game effected their stock. I’ll wait.

That doesn’t mean the board of directors or the investors are peachy keen with a BILLION dollars in value evaporating in 24 hours.

almost everything is going down due to news breaking over the President testing positive for covid. Also short term losses are fine.

Ideally, we wouldn’t have a delay.

But the reality is not ideal.

Between delaying launch and launching a broken, half-baked expansion, delaying will bring about less harm in the long run.

Entire market is dropping due to the president getting COVID-19; it’s not just Activision.
