As the title states, and google will confirm, Activision has been purchased by Microsoft.
How do forum dwellers think this will effect our lovely home of Azeroth going forward ?

Doubt. Microsoft lets the studios handle their business. If anything more projects will get greenlit, and MS will use exclusivity to sell gamepass.
Personally I have more faith in Microsoft over Activision.

My wife used to work on Mythica as a dev, a Microsoft MMPORPG that got shut down because it was going to get killed by WoW. I guess Microsoft won in the end!

Well, given Bill Gates shenanigans and outright lies over the past two years, Id say it will have a negative effect. One money hungry tyrant bought out by another. Game design will be the last thing they are concerned with.
