The lawsuit was filed a few hours ago. You don’t have to see the evidence yet. That doesn’t mean it isn’t there and ready to go. The state wouldn’t file charges if there wasn’t evidence. I think people are just finding more reasons to believe what fits their agenda only.
What kind of evidence would you personally prefer to see?
Wow is sadly old enough that quite a large portion of it’s community is part of that community and it’s always showed inside the game and on the forums.
what a bait and switch. Yes I DO have to see evidence before I randomly believe an accusation…what?
It’s always the same with allegations. The first step is claim outloud THERE IS AN INVESTIGATION and you’ve got half the job done. The rest is finding a Twitter journalist who:
A) Reports on the initial accusation
B) Reports on the accused part’s response
C) Reports on his own personal opinion, stating how much he firmly believes A
Usually if I read something like this, I would say it’s an overreaction.
But in this case, I really can’t blame any women that feel this way. From what I have read, this situation is really vile.
Two year investigation does not necessarily mean the issues occurred during those two years.
They should be held liable for any misconduct they had in the past.
I really wish the article sited the years of misconduct the lawsuit is asserting.
Because it doesn’t tell us much.
It’s so disappointing my sunken cost fallacy isn’t going to handle this well.
You are claiming you don’t believe women because you don’t have direct access to the evidence that will be used in a court case. I’ve met a ton of people like you in my life and as a woman, I can tell you that your perspective can sincerely suck for us.
I’m thinking Dante doesn’t live in the U.S. because if he did and if he is an employer like he says he is then he would know that .
If he is in the U.S. and is an employer and doesn’t know it then I question on whether or not his company is a legal enterprise.
Won’t train female employees if they get pregnant sounds like a quality Pimp there .
The investigation is over, it lasted 2 years. This is a court filing because now the state of California is taking this to court.
Which part of this involves Twitter?
You are too fixated on victimizing women is really the issue. Like I said, I dont care what gender you are…I am not going to assume your right without access to evidence…no…
This is actually fairly common in the tech bro/tech startup world of Southern California. I’ve known people who worked at similar jobs where drinking homebrewed 80 proof alcohol on your lunchbreaks was the norm. This is an extreme example, but you often hear about people at least getting tipsy during the latter half of the workday. The mentality seems to be that because you’re just sitting at your desk and not doing any manual labor, it’s okay to get woozy.
But we also need to keep in mind that it’s not just alcohol = bad. It’s the people who are drinking it. A few sips isn’t anything like getting completely smashed on the job, and alcohol doesn’t magically make people become monsters. It can make bad people worse, though.
People need to let that sink in. This isn’t some random intern that worked at blizzard randomly trying to sue. It’s the literal governing state of California taking this to court.
Then I’m just going to refer back to my original post.
Me, too, Gorg! I always roll my eyes at it. Like, I’ve never even remotely considered quitting (except to take breaks, you know, for RL stuff). I’m a little heartbroken by the response f/Blizzard on this.
I’m a woman, and any woman who plays video games knows to ignore the trolls who just hate girls. I mean…they’re here and we know, and whatever. So this isn’t that.
I can’t actually picture myself tossing the game because this is where I hang out with my people. But I also can’t picture giving money to these people. My sub is another 5 months. I’ll see how this plays out. But I just don’t know. We’re moving and we’ll be out of the game for a solid month in that process, so I might just have to pick another game and hang out with my people on Discord in future if Blizzard can’t find some big boy pants and make this right.
That and tech/games industry hire 20-25 males left and right so they literally JUST left the frat life and take it into the office.
What part of it is Federal Law and not California Law do you not get are you really that daft?
If you live in the U.S. guess what your state has to do it too.
This makes me genuinely sad. Let us hope those at Activision Blizzard who have been involved in this get what is coming to them.
… what?
