Actions to Reduce Disruption

“PvE happened on a PvE/vP server! We will be banning players who are involved!”

Aren’t you just contradicting yourself at this point?

Yikes.

You guys need to figure this out before you flush the game.

Just admit that this is not fun. All fun taken out of the event. You need to not time gate mount. So aholes stop sabotaging everyone else to get it.

Because the dude with a blind fold on throwing darts at a wall of things to fix didn’t land on that one.

How do you make a post about this, but not the current state of AV?

This answer fits all these types of questions

As time goes on I am more and more convinced of this being their method to figure out what to “fix”

So … let me understand this real quick. PVP against the opposite faction is considered trolling when it comes to world events like this.

However, having your own faction MC your PVP targets to save them, or sheep to heal them, or follow you when corpse walking to alert the opposite faction to your location upon res - is fine under “It’s PVP”.

Good god this a$$-backwards company never ceases to impress.

I really wish they would. The whole problem is with the damn mount and the next raid being locked behind an event that can easily be manipulated by the playerbase.

I saw LOTS of good suggestions over the last few months that would have been better than what we’re doing right now.

Hell, a large portion of the #nochanges community was BEGGING them to change this garbage event.

But nope, we have grief-a-paloosa.

There is no or very limited pvp-solution to lv. 10 alts throwing world-boss fights. Sure, you could put pressure on the guild behind it, try some MC shenanigans, etc. but if someone acts alone you’re just out of luck. I say this as someone who was part of the AQ-chain two days ago and it is INCREDIBLY easy to grief. Add to it how time-sensitive it is and you can legit deny SL by running an alt into the boss-fights.

However, you can fight collusion through pvp. Just because you don’t have the means to do so doesn’t mean it is impossible.

For the record, I don’t think there should be action against people griefing SL. It sucks but the answer is to finish faster, do bosses at different times or find another creative way to get it done. PvP-servers owe you nothing. And until the first gong is rung you have all the time in the world.

You should probably read the post again:

  • Same faction only on PvP servers
  • Both factions on PvE servers

The key component is being able to do PvP to stop it. Horde can slaughter lowbie Alliance on PvP realms trying to die to a World Boss to disrupt the the kill, and Blizzard approves of this. Horde CANNOT slaughter lowbie Horde trying to die to a World Boss, and Blizzard disapproves of this behavior.

If you wanted to grief Horde on a PvE realm… you rolled on the wrong realm.
If you wanted to grief Horde on a PvP realm… knock yourself out.

True. We cant blame they for everything and true they cant foresse everything. But most of the problems people are having where being reported from phase 2. Its not about foresigth. Its about not hitting your head on the pole on front of you.
Therebare a lot of things that the comunity saw comming from miles away. But blizz just de decides to not listen or ignore the problems

Griefing in any manner is a CoC violation and will result in actions against the offending account.

That’s why Blizzards attempted-lawyer-doublespeak not only doesn’t make sense, it makes them look stupid.

What? So you can literally pay the opposing faction to kill your own. Follow your own faction around giving their location to enemies. Mind control enemies and heal them.

But retaliating against that is now griefing? This is one of the dumbest stances I’ve ever seen Blizzard take in this game.

There is no PVP solution available to my own faction sharing intel with the opposing faction, intentionally weakening my position.

Make Silithis a FFA zone like the Arenas and okay, now there is a PVP solution. Otherwise, the colluders need to be punished just like they would be in literally any other team based game worth it’s salt.

Why you gotta bring in the billionaire thing? Now you just seem like you want stuff you aren’t willing to work for.

That being said, he’s right about the coordination thing, seems like it’s not a feasible option to be honest.

LOL

No. See, this is why you need to stop and think for a moment. “Griefing” itself is a term of art, meaning that it has to be defined itself before we can sit there and say whether something is even against the EULA or ToS. As Kaivax already explained:

The key factor here is the “presence or absence of a PvP solution.” So while a Horde player may feel very much “griefed” by Alliance camping their corpse and killing town NPCs, there is a PvP solution so this is acceptable disruption.

Your inability to follow basic sentence structure is a “you” problem, not a Blizzard problem.

But you can still just kill them, the Horde that is.

Now if you have Alliance pointing you out, you can get them sanctioned because you lack PvP solutions to them, but you need evidence of such things as there is no duty to protect you, shield you from enemy Horde, engage in positive fighting, avoid NPCs falling on you, and a host of other things that can cause you to die or fail while not actually being actionable.

Yeah its pretty obvious collusion to me when every time the opposite faction is about to die they get Mind controlled, healed up and buffed.

Its pretty easy to spot collusion if time is spent watching it happen.

Honestly, the punishment should be harsh. Like 2 months suspension harsh so they miss the entire event.

Behavior that intentionally detracts from others’ enjoyment (such as griefing, throwing, feeding, etc.) is unacceptable. We expect our players to treat each other with respect and promote an enjoyable environment.

Acceptable behavior is determined by player reports and Blizzard’s decision

falsely reporting another player with the sole intent of restricting their gameplay is also unacceptable and will result in penalties to your account.

The problem is Blizzard says one thing for one problem and says another for a different one.

What they need to do and keep failing to do every time they make a blue post is to act in a professional matter befitting of a multi-billion dollar company and make global punishments instead of picking sides or being biased.

I mean… there is nothing inherently wrong with any of this though. You aren’t required to kill Horde, nor is the use of MC punishable if it doesn’t result in some suicidal end for the victim. This is what I was talking about above: without actual evidence of concerted collusion, you don’t have much to go by as far as Blizzard is concerned. You need chat logs that are more than “I like this Orc, he’s cute!” levels of silliness. Action alone isn’t going to really cut it here.

LOL no.

They haven’t said anything contradictory here, notably because of this:

Blizzard had complete and total discretion to define griefing along whatever lines they so choose. Furthermore,

this section must be read in light of the very nature of competitive play for limited resources as well as PvP writ large. The very nature of ganking someone “intentionally detracts from others’ enjoyment” but it not just passively approved, but outright sanctioned by the existence of dedicated servers.

Sniping singular quotes and defining them in any way you want is not how any of this works. The totality of their position is what matters, but like you already showed:

This is all that matters. The EULA states as much, and you aren’t going to get notice of it either, because you agreed to it to even access Blizzard products and licenses.

Kaivax was entirely professional, you just didn’t get the response you wanted and assume that justifies blaming Blizzard for it, rather than taking a moment to think on whether your emotions are to blame. You’re just mad, but that doesn’t mean you’re right.

If you hate the way Blizzard runs things, you can submit an exit survey when you unsubscribe. After all, you’re a valued consumer, but just a consumer nonetheless.

So uhh…when are you going to do something about mythic+ griefers on live who leave and ruin keys? You want to talk about League of Legends levels of toxic behavior…
