Actions Taken to Curb Griefing by Repeatedly Leaving Groups

Oh no! The crests! THE ABSOLUTE HORROR!

You still get Great Vault credit. And a chance at a piece of gear. Granted the RNG is crap, but hey, thats what Delves are for!

Go ahead and simp over them.

If you join a key you are in it until keyholder or group collectively decides it is over. If you leave randomly before this without saying anything you lack empathy for the other members. The majority do not want to play with you if you are doing this, and trust me when I say you are the minority. Most people do not do this. If you wipe 3 times on first boss just say something and then leave that is ok. Randomly leaving silently after 1 wipe is not okay.

Honestly if it dies because of this I would laugh so much

Blizzard bans people tired of griefers doing less dmg than tanks in +10 to +12.

More at 11.

Sounds like instead of leaving now the play will be to just throw the key and play badly on purpose so you get kicked from the group

This whole palaver reminds me of that Reddit post by that guy who was once kicked from an m+ run, so he swore vengeance on the entire community by deliberately joining other groups, only to bail on them so they would brick the key.

Guy was a nutter.

It is not a new rule. The rule has been in place and Blizzard has had the option to enforce it, although it is unclear to me if they have enforced it before.

This current ban wave is a reaction to player requests and feedback. It does not just happen for fun.

This article is a year old if that gives any idea how long ago it was last updated/posted.

Party Member Left Mythic Dungeon Before Killing Last Boss

Updated: 1 year ago

Article ID: 117469

Product:

Common Problems

* We just started a mythic plus run and a member left.

  • The group wiped and one of the players left the instance.

If you encounter behavior in chat that demonstrates malicious intent to sabotage the run of your Mythic+ group, you can report the player by using the right-click option in-game.

Customer Support can’t upgrade, restore, or create keystones. Running the dungeon again with the downgraded keystone will award a new upgraded keystone, as long as finished within the time limit.

Note this is for REPEATED and numerous leaving instances. Not for leaving once in a while when a run goes bad. This is for people who sabotage keys
If it is catching too many people who are not trying to sabotage, can always adjust the limits.

I really don’t give a crap. The devs are finally taking action against players who sabo keys. Big W in my book.

Literally just fodder play from here on out.

No no, the trick is to convince someone else to leave first based on your horrible performance. lol.

they should not remove this change or issue an apology lol
who do you think you are? and yes they changed the policy because the sheer amount of people that leave and brick keys is an insane number and only the group leader is the one that faces the consequences of another persons actions
now with this change the person who left also faces consequences for their actions aswell. it is pointless to tell everyone any details because lets say they come out and say “if you leave a mythic plus dungeon mid run before last boss is killed 5 times within a week you will be banned” people are just gunna abuse that information and leave 4 times and leave it for a few days. they literally cannot clarify without someone abusing it still and thats why they did not here.

it dies today. there is no if, there is only when. I left a total of 2-3 groups this last week and now i’m sitting on a 7 day suspension, for literally nothing.

Define leaving. Are they actioning the person who goes offline the moment the key starts, or the first person who leaves once faced with the inevitability that the key is a 4 man run?

Good to know I’ll make sure to warn my PvE friends to just play badly instead of leaving

That’s not what the policy describes, however. Leaving a group is not demonstration of an intent to grief.

Strange to see the same people who claimed that leavers aren’t a problem are also the ones opposed to banning leavers who supposedly aren’t a problem.

Could you explain this a bit more? Should I be worried about leaving a group if we wipe terribly to something?

If you’re doing 11s or higher, you probably don’t care about either of those. Only the IO and maybe crests.

Someone who engages with the gamemode and can see the effects of this poorly-thought-out “solution”

then dont leave dungeons lol. not that hard to not sign up if you dont want to complete it.
