Is this the thing they call community interaction? A long winded post that told us nothing new. We know Blizzard bans people. We know they’re awful at fighting bots. Blizzard needs to do more, hire more people.
Posts like this just seem like they’re made to make us seem like we aren’t being understanding, or they need our pity. Forget that. We pay you money to make a game worth playing.
It is on Blizzard to do more.
I got burnt out on classic, from being in the beta and playing every day. I hit 60 and took a break. I would run mara on my warlock to farm gold and if I ever want to come back the instance lockout is gonna screw me. I can’t spam dungeons to gear or farm gold
my reaction exactly upon reading this, he literally says nothing of value.
You guys should really just do a monthly post on how many accounts have been banned like FFXIV does.
It shows us that you are actively banning bots and RMT and all you need to do is say X number have been banned and not need to divide it up.
Also please remove the instance cap, its easy to reach especially for those of us who dont play during the week but come time Saturday/Sunday we put in 30 hours.
Thank you!
Thank you for communicating this, honestly.
I get that you don’t understand how a subscription works, maybe you should go inform yourself before you make a complete fool of yourse…
nevermind.
I think you’ve missed a few, because they are still EVERYWHERE. I’m in an area right now with 2 bots that farm owlbeasts 24 7.
Your an obvious forum troll. Nothing more, it makes me so happy to see you so salty though.
TRUE
I find that hard to believe.
This made me laugh. Is it really “powerful” if it takes you months to do something about it? Powerful would be instantly detecting and banning.
I’m the opposite.
I can’t tolerate bots. I can tolerate a 30 instance per day per realm limit to help fight bots and other exploits.
Why, was that in vanilla?
Here’s your answer folks. Blatently ignoring the flood of outcry against the stupid instance limit. My sub ran out today and I’m going back to OSRS as I have always done over the years in between terrible expansions and other game breaking changes. It seems to be the one game I can always just pick right back up and start where I left off in between my WoW addiction phases.
Can’t believe they are still writing out these posts and completely ignoring us all, what a kick to the teeth to be honest.
We know Blizzard bans people.
The majority of posts here over the last week were from people claiming to know for a fact that Blizzard doesn’t ban bots. The conspiracy theories they gave as to why were very numerous and ridiculous.
It’s worthwhile though, because we never want to take action against a legitimate player.
Right, but you did by restricting the limit to which we can enter instances.
The BanWave is a step in the right direction. So is having software to help detect these accounts. I understand it is a difficult thing to accomplish and it won’t ever be 100% no bots.
I also think legitimate players shouldn’t have their game play changed for something the bots and bot companies are doing. This DOES affect legitimate players with the changes you already established.
Like you, we play World of Warcraft.
Is this also an April Fools joke?
Thanks for doing your jobs, now revert the stupid lockouts change.
They didn’t abandon it; that’s the problem. They keep messing with it.
And how! If all Blizzard had done was given us servers to play on, I would be content.
I’m glad you are doing something about bots. Now if you could continue doing banwaves while also stopping to hurt non-bot players, that’d be super (as in revert the stupid 30 instance limit cap)
Stop doing banwaves. When an account is found using exploits, ban them on the spot. While you wait to collect additional money from the said account, their illegitimate game play NEGATIVELY affects our community and our economy.
As far as your heuristics are concerned, you need to go hire the cheat programmers and developers, because they have clearly outsmarted you and your programs. To watch someone fly in ZG, gather mobs, and then slay them with ease - without you catching them on your own, is down right embarrassing.
