On 8/31 I got 2 emails. One stated :
" Action(s) Taken: Account Closure
Recent activity shows your account may be compromised. We disabled this account to protect your privacy and prevent further damage.
We recommend checking our Securing a Blizzard Account article for suggestions to make it harder for someone to compromise your account.
Blizzard Entertainment reserves the right to terminate your access to the account, with or without warning, as noted in the Blizzard End User License Agreement

Blizzard Entertainment"
the second email stated:
" Your subscription for World of Warcraft® Subscription - 6 Months has been canceled. You’ll no longer be charged, though you can still play until your current subscription expires on Jan 30 2023 08:56 PM (PST). Manage your account at any time on renewing your subscription!

Blizzard Entertainment"
I have the authenticator. I have SMS enabled. I have not participated in any suspicious activity. I see no signs that my account has been hacked or used in any way (no missing gold or items that I can see). If it really is compromised, why am I still able to play till January?
I put in a support ticket that states over 5 days for an answer and even then it will be the equivalent of an email if I am not on at that time. Blizzard support chat is not active during the hours stated. I call the only listed phone number that basically says submit a ticket in game and hangs up.
I have played wow since the start of vanilla so much so that blizzard sent me a statue to thank me. How can I fix this as I don’t want to lose my account or all the characters I have worked on over many years.
If you can log in then your account is not closed.
When an account is suspended for more than 2 weeks Blizz auto cancels the subscription on it to prevent billing when a person can’t play. The paragraph you got sounds like the generic “sub cancelled” message.
That just sounds strange to me, but you really do need to wait on a ticket or an actual Blizzard (blue) to reply. I am another player so can’t see your account.

Just to help set expectations, it will likely be an email/ticket response regardless of if you are on or not. It is rare that we’d contact you in-game, especially for a possible account action.
As for the issue itself. I can definitely see some notes and indication of a suspected compromise. I don’t believe the account itself was closed though, and instead of password reset was issued.
It is possible that an error was made, or that the account may be compromised and so reset the password to help make sure the account was secure… I’m afraid I don’t have any other details to share than that, Glaivemstake.

Thank you, I did reset my password and would love to continue to play. I am not sure what the cancellation of my 6 month is about and am hesitant to buy the next expansion if I am going to lose the ability to play shortly after.
As long as u secure ur account and prove to blizzard that its ur account it will be fine to by DF.

The subscription cancellation is a proactive move on their part for any account actions that exceed two weeks. That way you’re sure to avoid spending money on something you cannot access.

You just need to re-buy the 6th month sun to continue playing. You won’t lose any time or anything.
It is a little unfortunate it got cancelled (though I fully understand why Blizzard does this) since in order to set it back up right now you’d be paying the full amount right now. It would just add six months to the current time you have left. If you don’t want to/can’t afford that now you can always wait until closer to your sub was originally set to expire to re-activate the subscription.
If another free sub mount/mog gets released while your subscription is not currently set to auto renew (aka active) you will not get that until you set it back up.
