Action bars move to the top-left after /reload and relog

as of 11/23/2024 this fix worked for me. but as previously mentioned, you have to follow it to a T. all the saves and micro moves etc.

still not working for me, have put through multiple tickets and they keep on saying to do thier ui reset and still not working, did a full install, tried creating a ui from scratch, no addons, and still the same thing on all characters

only thing that has worked has been the macro suggested by Teiomu

/run C_EditMode.SetActiveLayout(C_EditMode.GetLayouts().activeLayout)

have that macro on my alts and press it before getting frustrated

again, just a work around, not an actual fix

Still broken.

Hi all, I cannot recreate this bug. That said, bugs should be reported in Bug Report for developers to investigate. Players and volunteers in this forum cannot relay your bug report to anyone working on the game.

I love this! Thank you!

That’s the weirdest (and most aggravating) part about it. It’s only affected some of us, so everyone else is like “Uh, wdym, everything’s normal.” lol

(Thank you for the link, though!)

Is there a fix yet?
Im still getting it

But the comments ultimately don’t matter. You’re addressing QA; what other players say doesn’t change that. The most those comments can do is to tell QA it’s not a universal problem, which is a useful piece of troubleshooting data anyway.

This worked for me! Moving the affected action bar two pixels up made it look effectively the same, but now its not overlapping another bar so it doesn’t break on login.

Still broken :frowning:

So it didn’t work for me at first. I tried it again and forgot to enable snapping and it has worked. Maybe the problem is snapping? SO i say only turn on snapping when you want to arrange your UI then turn it back off. That seems to have solved my issue.

My objections keeps going to the top left corner and I’ll move it back to original position.
Sometimes when I log in, port between instances or zones, my skill bar will have reverted to a previous order, which was a bunch of levels prior and I have to reorg and add back the new skills over and over again.
What’s really odd is the two preset GUI which I do not mess with, also does not have the objections at all, I have to run /reload gui to bring it back, which also goes in the top left corner and I move it to the right side about where it is defaulted to.
This will stay like that until a relog.

Most of the time it seems just opening the editor and closing it will fix it.

If you want a more in-depth solution…

You will need to go through and make sure nothing is bound/docked to anything else, there’s a toggle for this, and then also make sure none of your UI elements overlap… not even the default stuff put in by blizzard.

So far, my new UI is working well, and everything seems to be good no matter how many times I’ve needed to /reload or log out and back in.

I went into Edit mode and turned off (Snap to Elements) and it has fixed the problem!

This worked for me! The problem does seem to be the snapping for whatever reason. Thanks!

This worked for me, easy and quick solution

The fix that finally worked for me was the following:

  1. Open Edit Mode.
  2. Uncheck Snap To Elements.
  3. Move the offending Action Bar to where you want it.
  4. Save.

I had to do this to my pet bar and Action Bar 6. After I reloaded my UI it stays in the same spot every time. Do not enable “Snap To Elements”.

Happy gaming!

I found a blue post from July 2024 that said they were working to resolve it as quickly as possible. It’s February 2025 and I still have this problem. Will have to try the quick fix but I have 2 accounts and more than 50 toons…ugh :unamused:
