Because it was zero cost additional platform for their players to access their games and likely positively impact their MAU

Keep in mind OP, it was available only for the Beta which can change when the service goes live which unfortunately it did. That’s on you to believe that it would have continued after beta ended.
Your entitled to cancel your subscription if you want, but Blizzard really isn’t at fault here since they don’t support these streaming services and never had in the first place.

Idk why ActiBlizz did this. Players were reporting positive experiences. I mean more access, means more players which means more profit… right?!

Most likely to help Nvidia test the service out, but when it went live they decided to pull out of it in case they wanted to go another route with maybe Google with Stadia or just not do it. Might have found flaws or problems that could come up in the future that they rather wait for.

To be fair, the idea of the service is not a bad one. So long as you have a decent net connection, then even laptops become viable to play games with.

That is why it is Beta… Beta is for testing and that can change at any time while it is testing or when the product is fully released.

I’m fine with services like these so long as they do not eventually become the only way to play games.
It takes more control away from me than I am comfortable with.
