I would, but you cant kill kids parents and then give them food so you can advertise you helped an orphan. Because you know, I like to make my own orphans, to be sure they are organic and free range.

Acts of kindness are not something you are supposed to announce or brag about (taking screenshots in game or taking selfies or doing those lame YouTube videos for clicks for example). That’s about selfishness because you’re trying to get something out of it, a reward as it were.
Acts of kindness/good deeds should be done in secret and should only be between you and the person involved. In fact I think that was even in the Bible too if I recall something along the lines of what you do with one hand you don’t announce (blow your own horn) with the the other - something like that.
Shhh… be nice, help others but keep it to yourself. It will look better on you.

I’m not sure I agree with everyone elses assessment. It seems as if people are conflating an act of kindness with being humble.
Telling someone how you were once kind does not suddenly make that act unkind.
I think the idea behind this is actually a good idea. One it shows how many people are helping others out and two it may encourage players who normally don’t to do so, even if only for selfish reasons.
Anyway I guess I’ll be the first. I helped a new player run a M0 for gear yesterday. I’ll probably run several others through a world tour tonight.

Ok. I helped a new player walking around with warmode on to learn after 3 deaths that you dont run around with warmode on if you cant pvp. lol

You’re right, I don’t think it does but it does reveal the hidden agenda - the person only did such a thing to gain recognition, an “atta boy!” which makes the meaning behind it all, it’s true intent - lesser. If you get what I mean.

Absolutely, that’s what I was getting at in my first reply.
First of all … Good deeds according to whom ?
Second … Good deeds to whom ?
Third … What is special about being good in this game ?
But does that matter? The deed is the deed and its a done deed.
More kindness for almost any (I was going to say any but I’m sure someone will think of a case were it isn’t. Like killing a serial killer.) reason can only be beneficial.
I’m not attacking you and your goal to better humanity in game, I was more or less responding to the “take a screenshot of it” part.
I’m all for kindness and generosity and helping others - those are wonderful endeavors to take upon one self. I hope you succeed in motivating others.
