Hi ya, I’ve gotten to the warlock quests in Ratchet giving you the option of “Shard of the Infernal” or “Shard of the Felhound” What are the benefits that one or the other gives?
Take the soul of the Felhound. Its more beneficial for you as you’re mainly running afflict/destro when levelling and your main damage stat is Shadow damage over Fire.
I’m seriously considering to change my spec to Demonology, would Shard of the felhunter be the best choice?

It would be. Demonology still focuses hard on shadow damage which the shard gives bonus damage to (so Corruption, Shadowbolt, Life/soul drain…etc etc.)
Those items don’t seem to exist.
This is just me and I’m leveling a new Gnome Warlock on Bennediction and just hit the barrens for my succubus quest, but I would level as Affliction/Demo. More so in Affliction. The Dots will help you clear mobs the fastest. Being able to drain tank yourself to victory. I tried Demo back when Retail was sort of like classic and the leveling was a lot slower. True your like a tank if you go full Demo with Soul Link but having the Improved Corruption in Affliction tree is insta cast now. I got a long ways to go as in leveling but maybe once I hit 60 I’ll go full Demo for the pvp side of it since I’m on a pvp server. On a side note going in barrens it was dead. No Horde in sight on Bennediction.
If you’re spec’d into demonology wouldn’t you want infernal? I might be all wrong (probably) but do you get an infernal or is that ability just a thing of the past? So if I’m reading this right the Shard of the Felhunter is the way to go for all specs. I’ll pass on this quest until I get the opinions of you guys or gals. I’m sure you know more about this quest than me.
