"Account wide essences" was a lie

This is a game. If it isn’t fun, it isn’t a success.

Why should hybrid classes have to wait longer to get their essences across specs via farming more mats, some of which are timegated?

A classic:
“Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it but not in the way you want.”

But you hardly needed all of them like you claim you have.

Paladins can be three different roles and the power of essences fluctuated wildly as they were nerfed and buffed.

Farming them all made sense.

You have no argument. The fact that I chose to do it doesn’t in any way prove it isn’t bad.

Be happy you got something. This is better than nothing. People will complain about anything and everything.

Actually I do. You not liking it <> bad. I don’t like raiding or M+.

No it did not because not all essences are BiS for any roll, so you farmed them because you wanted to.

It actually exactly proves that. You decided that farming was something you wanted to do regardless of if you needed it or not. The game gave you a goal and you decided to do it.

It kind of sounds like you are complaining for complaining’s sake.

Except who isn’t it fun for? I enjoyed earning my rank 4 aquatic team essence. On the other hand I hate raiding and M+, so are those falures?

Blizzard wildly shifts the balance of things. If you care about being competitive, you need to have the things already. If you wait until after they get changed, you might be weeks or months behind farming them.

You fail to understand basic logic such as this.

You have no argument. Everyone hates farming essences. Everyone hates how strong and mandatory essences are. Essences are a failed system.

And? You can’t buy something you never earned in the first place. What did you expect, them to just toss out level 3 essence to everyone? Even if the system was “account bound” like everyone wants, they still wouldn’t have access to essences they never unlocked.

Buying it is earning it.

Nice strawman. I literally never said or even implied that.

In fact, you liked the post where I said what they should do. Good job ignoring that too.

8.2 is old content. 8.3 assumes you have 8.2 essences.

All 8.2 essences should be purchaseable for Echoes for all characters, regardless of whether or not you earned them on other characters.

Any essences you earn should be account-wide.

Corruption is what we’re here for in 8.3. Essences are still mandatory, but unlocking them should not be the focus of your play.

No it doesn’t, which is why any 8.2 essences you haven’t unlocked will not be for sale on Mother. Other wise all of the essences would be open and not just the ones you have already earned to level 3.

They were very careful in how they worded the release of this feature .

Ah so you now speak for everyone. Ok then.

Not being for sale by Mother doesn’t mean it’s current content.

Mother doesn’t sell Thunderfury, so I guess it’s current content by your logic.

8.3 content is balanced assuming you have a full loadout of the correct essences. Not having them makes your life very difficult.

Where did I say that? You said that 8.3 assume you have 8.2 essences but that is clearly not the case because you can’t buy any you didn’t unlock. I am not sure what is so hard to understand about that…

[Enemies/content in] 8.3 [are balanced] assuming you have 8.2 essences.

See the parts in brackets? That is literally the only possible interpretation of what I said. Especially since the echoes system didn’t exist until this week.

Your English teachers did a really bad job teaching you how to comprehend what you read.

Expect it says that literally no where in the post about account wide essences. Matter of fact they make it clear that they feel the opposite of what you think.

“If you are just returning to Battle for Azeroth or experiencing it for the first time, the goal of acquiring all of your Essences will lead you through many aspects of Warcraft’s endgame.”

So if you hadn’t already experienced this content they think you should and thus you will earn the 8.2 essences.

Or they just never taught me to comprehend stuff someone pulled out of their behinds?

Yeah. Took me a long time but I unlocked every single essence on this character. Now I reap the rewards.

Also essences are account wide.

The whole argument for account wide essences was that earning them once wasn’t too bad. It was earning them repeatedly for every character sucked.

You seem to be under the impression that a lie cannot be passive. Failing to mention pertinent information may not rise to the level of perjury in a court of law but let the jury find out that you failed to mention pertinent information or hid the information in vague or ambiguous language while testifying and your credibility as a witness takes a nosedive.

As anyone who has ever watched a procedural show will no doubt know, if you testify on the stand to a set of facts and fail to disclose that you are being paid by the prosecution or defense and the cross examining attorney has proof of this, your credibility is shot in the foot.

In the same manner then, if you say one thing and mean something slightly different to the audience here on the forums and in game you will of course be determined guilty of telling a lie. And rightly so. The devs may not have actively lied but it is still a lie because they did not disclose the entire truth.

They never said these were account wide. I still don’t know why people started claiming they ‘caved in’ - does wanting something so bad make people incapable of reading things correctly?
