While I wait for a ticket response, I wanted to look in to the forums to see if this has happened to anyone else the last few days because I am very confused.
I think this is my first offense, I don’t know if something in the past beyond a compromised account at one point when my computer itself had been stolen. Which wasn’t a fun time.
Anyways, the only thing I can think of that may have gotten flagged was I was fishing for a long period of time trying to get a drop to start a questline that would take a long time, so I would just put a movie on or a long running show on another monitor and click on my bobber when I heard the movement and I macro’d the cast on to one of my mouse buttons so I wouldn’t have to use my keyboard. If I had to get up to pee I’d just pester my roommate to click the mouse for me when they saw the thing wiggle around. I’d do this for hours and hours, and even try to type in guild chat during casts (which was sometimes a race when I type a lot.)
I can understand if this may seem a certain way, but for me it was just hyperfixating on doing the task and finding the thing. I was more than happy to put in the time to find it. I found it on some other characters so I could use it to hit the rare for a transmog (that isn’t sellable anyways) and using alts also with the thing would help me get it unlocked.
The ban is only for six months and not permanent (thank goodness for that) but it’s still a long time and I’m afraid of what could have triggered this and how I could avoid doing it again in the future.
Just in case it was something I didn’t do, I changed my password and made sure my authenticator was functioning properly.
Please Blizz CS, even if it can’t be appealed, I have to know what I can do so this doesn’t happen again.
