Account Silenced ( Again )

Well, now you know. The problem kinda solved itself.

I like when a GM responds with the actual reason someone got silenced or whatever. Now this was pretty tame compared to other stuff I’ve seen, but still, I appreciate the GM even bothering responding.

People like to appear they’re the victim and they did nothing wrong. A GM comes along and lays down some hard truth and all of the sudden a person isn’t so innocent. Sorry, this last piece was a bit off topic!

I’m not a huge fan of spamming of anything in chat. I can only assume you might have hit the button several times and sent your “sales” a bit too much? It would have annoyed me too to be completely honest.

If you’re referring to Vrak or Orlyia or Kalv or the rest here, they aren’t GMs. They also aren’t really keen on having their family strung out to dry like other players tend to do with GM ticket responses, and like to… clear things up, a little.

I hope I’m not the only one who has absolutely no clue how to interpret this statement.

I think I kinda get it. Seems like Ekon was alluding to the fact that if you bait our blues to do it, they’ll dish out the dirt?

Or something

I guess I just don’t understand the reference to strung-out families…?
Oh well, I’m just gonna chalk it up to auto-correct fail.

I interpreted that as referencing Vrakthris and Orylia tending to not let their colleagues just become forum punching bags.

This is how I took it too. They will not let people come and wrongly bad mouth their coworkers ie family without setting the record straight in the process.

That is how I read it at least. But I did just wake up.

It’s an older saying, my parents (who are in the 70s) and grandparents used it a lot. Basically, they will come and defend the GMs when they are in the right, and call out and correct what the player in essence lied about.

To touch on this point, it’s also possible that your realmmates “approve” of the frequency, but not the content. A few suggestions:

  • Try shortening your message so it doesn’t’ take up the entirety of someone’s chat window.
  • Try removing any of the repeating emotes that most people seem to use (if you have them).
  • Try having 2-3 different messages saved as macros and mix it up.

Also know that, while it may not be 100% “fair”, if you are being something of a nuisance in between the messages, people could be more likely to report your recruitment messages, if only so they get that session-long ignore.

But the overall message, appeal or not, is that your realm mates are giving you the hint that they don’t like what you are doing. So, take that to heart.
