Account Recovery

Hi all! Looking for advice. I submitted 3 tickets trying to recover my old wow account (username giadrock36). I’ve waited for replies, as I understand queues may be backed up for the GMs right now. But every time I receive a response, it’s asking me for the same information and telling me to reference the ticket number and create a new ticket answering as many verification questions about the account as I can. So I submit the ticket again, wait several days, and get the same response, asking me to create a new ticket. I feel like I’m in a loop and wondering if I’m doing something wrong. Any advice?

Can you give any of those ticket numbers?

Hello! Yes of course. Here are two examples

Think I found the issue.

You are trying to access this at an @aol email - it’s under a @yahoo

Does that help?

Yes it does. The issue is my wow account was created many years ago under an aol email that was deactivated for non use, so I can’t recover my password. I created a new blizzard account to play the free trial in the meantime and that’s the yahoo one. Is there anything else I can do? I spent so many years on that account and don’t want to lose it all.

But the old account you are looking for isn’t under an @aol, it’s under a @yahoo.

The one made in 2010 - that doesn’t really contain anything, is under the @aol

Ah okay. I’m confused. My only yahoo email is (removed). The wow account I’m looking for, that one of the GMs confirmed was located, was created prior to 2010 while I was in college. Can you give me some advice on how I can sort this out or what I can provide to locate my account and gain access to it again? The one with my hunter Rinnoa (skywalk). I’m at a loss and totally desperate. When I try to reset my password, it says that it’s sending a verification code to (removed).

Where I found it - is under the email you gave in your ticket - but not aol.

It’s not the one you listed here (which btw - isn’t a great idea to list in public)

It’s identical to the one you listed in your ticket - with the exception of being yahoo.

Now, I suppose we could be talking about two different licenses, but the one I found had the character you had listed Rinnoa - albeit with numbers now, since it’s so old and the name was released.

The email you just gave DOES have a Battlenet with a license - but it’s brand new.

You’re so right. I edited to remove my email addresses. Thank you! I’m very confused. Am I able to provide my drivers license to be given the login and have the password reset? Or provide any other verification? I still have no clue how to get in. :frowning:

1st question, do you have access to the @yahoo email?

if so, it’s just a matter of a password reset. If you don’t, we’ll need an address that isn’t used on any other Battlenet account. You could send that in through a ticket.

I don’t have access to any other yahoo email address. So do I create a new ticket and put another email address I want to associate it with? Or could I move my characters to my account i just created?

I wouldn’t suggest moving anything - you just need back into control of this old account.

Pop in a ticket with an email that isn’t in use on ANY Battlenet, so it can’t the one you gave - there is a new account under that.

Let me know the ticket number on that - I can make sure it’s connected to where it needs to be.

I cannot thank you enough for your help today! I submitted a new ticket (US98063044) requesting the account be moved to a new email address. Do you know what the estimated time to resolution might be and what email I should look to for response?

Keep an eye on your new email, Aureila. This shouldn’t take terribly long.

I know it’s a typo, but it made me spit out my coffee. Ominous as heck.

This is what I like to see, people working with our blizz staff and not against them, OP didn’t even have to wait long. And it seemed that our lovely blue was more than happy to help.
