Account Perma-Banned for getting boosted

If they said they will no longer review, I believe that means final. I wouldn’t press my luck any further. And that further contact about it won’t be accepted.

No unless you want your entire bnet account banned. More tickets on it would be gm harrasement. They will not review it again. Nothing else can be done

I would definitely check your PC for any automation-like programs installed. Maybe something you use for work?
It’s possible you got banned because they detected something on your PC that looks like automation software.

Not accusing you of this or saying this happened

We have all seen adds including trusted pilot and if someone uses them, your not allowed too fyi. They always use bots to run someones characters .

Just food for thought

I don’t know what trusted pilot is tbh. I’ll look into that.

Any of the power leveling sites who sell all sorts of things. All of their services will get you banned

Well that makes sense. But I only used the people in trade/services chat.

edit: Would the leatrix plus addon setting to disable loot warnings maybe flag me for a form of automation?

An addon would not, not if written in lua code, and executed within the client. If it required a executable to run along with the client and interject code into the wow stream, and allowed you to do more actions then 1 key press or action button would normally, then that is suspicious.

I use Leatrix Plus all the time, and never been actioned. Addons found on places such as Curseforge wouldn’t find you actioned for using the addon, not unless RP Addons and using it to breach Blizzard’s Code of Conducts.

The only way Lua based addons can break any rules usually have to do with chat rules or spam. Blizzard controls the sandbox so it’s not possible to violate automation rules with Lua addons.

But the sandbox wouldn’t stop you from writing an addon that say spammed chat or dropped f bombs.

Blizzard also does keep an eye on the addons, and if they find an addon that is doing something like that, or is disruptive to the game play, they break the addon.

If they have actually told you “Further requests on this topic will not be reviewed” then yes, you should no longer continue to send any appeals and would likely want to consider their final response as final.

This is good information thank you, + all the addons I have are from curse forge excluding elvui. So I guess addons can be written out of the equation.

I’d also make sure, assuming you open a new WoW License on your account, to not have any other programs running while playing WoW (with exception to a web browser and discord) because you may have been running a program that was flagged by Warden as problematic.

Also it could be a hardware issue if you use a mouse/keyboard that has rapid fire capabilities. 1 Button Press should Equal 1 in game action (or in game macro). If you have a keyboard/mouse that lets you press a button and do repeated actions that can cause a ban.

Well this will be the end of this thread, as I have gotten a legitimate response from a GM. As a warning to anyone, boosting is an offense that is PERMA BANNABLE. Although I still have questions (listed at bottom). I appreciate everyone on this thread that has contributed valuable information or has wish my luck in getting my account back. I am bummed about loosing the account but there’s nothing I believe I can do now.

  • If I boost a toon on the same account with another toon, is that legal or bannable?
    * e.g. I have a lvl x Warrior sit afk in a dungeon, while I farm said dungeon on a Mage.
  • Why was this first offense on my account an instant perma over another increment of time?
  • Are you able to sell a boost or is that bannable as well (I’m assuming it’s bannable)?

 Thank you all

Pretty wild that you are getting banned for boosting when that isn’t against TOS and that so many people are getting boosted every day without issue. I have personally watched someone get boosted from lvl 10 all the way to 60 on anniversary realms. Why is this now a problem with no post on banning it? Is it tied to them making gold not tradable between realms and game versions?

Boosting is allowed, just unsupported.

Using/receiving illicit gold, or using of-game services or money to pay for it however is generally the reason why someone may get actioned.
