I was paying for a faction change for my character and after it completed, I went ahead and started playing the character. About 4 hours in, I randomly got kicked off the character and was greeted by a message along the lines of “You must wait for character update to complete processing”, I looked this up and was told a password change might fix this.
After doing so, I went ahead to try logging in, only to see my account was locked. Surprised (To say the least), I went to go see why. My email shows
We were unable to complete your recent purchase of a game service.

Figuring this was weird, I jumped on my paypal and weirdly enough, did not see the charge but I checked my AMEX (which I’m using to pay VIA my paypal) and saw the charge for the faction change in the pending stage. I went to see if the transaction was under my WOW transaction history, and did not see anything other than the past purchases I made.
I went ahead and made a ticket but wanted to reach out to customer support to see if there is anything more I can do to help speed up this process. I know its Sunday, so sadly, I don’t expect anything but one can hope!
This can only be handled by a ticket which u already did i hope it was thru problem with purchase.

The good news is that GMs are staffed 24/7. It sounds like you just need to try a different payment method though. Maybe instead of going through PayPal, try using the card directly instead? That would be one option.
That ‘pending’ charge will return to your card, but it might take a couple of days depending on your bank.

Understood! I just thought it was weird that I’m not seeing it under my wow accounts transaction history at all (Not pending or failed, just not there)!.
I re-added my paypal (As I noticed it was gone) but I’ll add my debit card directly to see if this helps with any funky issues that paypal/CC may cause.
I’m assuming I will just need to have it added to my account and wait for blizzard to recharge me again? Any ideas on how long that may be?
I’m not too sure to be honest. It’s weird that it let you play if the payment eventually failed. I don’t know if they’ll automatically bill it again, but I’d definitely leave that ticket open to see what a GM says too.
It’s late on a Sunday so I don’t know that there are any Blues lurking around to clarify too. Usually it just doesn’t complete the faction change!

Yea, I thought it was weird when I saw it too!
I’ve done faction changes before and normally, I just start the process, come back in an hour and I’m ready to go. Never ran into an incident where I would later get kicked off and locked from my account!
Well, as you said, it is late, so I’m not really expecting a reply but maybe I’ll get lucky and get a response tonight so it can be corrected ASAP.
Before you started playing the character on the server you transferred to, it might be a good idea to check to ensure it was not also on the server you transferred from.

Going through the process of getting the account unlocked again, though I do have a question.
The ticket was marked as answered and the reply says it’s been ‘escalated’. Do I need to do anything further? When I click “I still have a problem” it says this will re-open the ticket. The ticket has not been archived though.

Nope. If it’s been escalated, then it’s been sent on to a different group. Typically, this can take a little time to have someone dive into the coding to help get you straightened out.
Hopefully it won’t be too long, but in the past this can take days, even a week or two.
