Greetings! Recently, my EU account (WOW#1) got perma-banned for “economy exploitation”, which shocked me a little bit, as I wasnt involved in any RMT transactions (at least known to me), nor have I ever used any exploits to make myself richer. The only economy-related thing that I did on my SOD character (the only character that I played recently) was selling Scarlet Infiltrator items on the AH, and I barely even traded with someone outside the AH. I have sent several appeals but only got generic-scripted responses. Still, I have literally 0 clues as to why I got banned. You can check my logs, there’s literally almost nothing, except AH trading.
I know that the forum isnt a right place to make an appeals, and yet I saw that in some cases, a kind CS-agent clarified the reasons for the ban, or helped with the appeal process.
EU ticket ID - #99806499
Thank you in advance!
It seems you may have received dirty gold. This is a risk by doing trades not facilitated by the AH. This would fall under economy exploitation. An appeals ticket is the only thing you can do to have a GM look at your case. And yes vrak and orylia can provide clarification IF the circumstances allow for it.
Sad to hear:( Still, thank you for your time spent!
I hope that at least my appeal will be reviewed more thoroughly, and EU support will make the right decision.
Despite what u read online all investigations are checked and double checked throughly either the data confirms the punishment or finds a mistake does happen all tickets are handled by real people.
Recieved a generic “we will be upholding this penalty” answer. Utterly disappointing, as i dont even get to know, what and when I did wrong. Guess I’ll have to create a new account and play a self-found mode or something, lol.
Blizzard has really been cracking down on gold laundering. So, if you received gold from someone that purchased it, knowingly or not, it could result in an account action. It’s best to stick to AH sales and avoid sales facilitated through trade chat. I’m not saying this is what happened because I’m not privy to Blizzard’s internal logs, but merely saying it’s a possibility.
Were any of the players you traded with low level like level 1 or level 10?
Did you do any trades that didn’t have something of fair market value on both sides of the trade window, things such as getting paid for boosts, crafting tips, getting payment from one character and giving the sold item to a different character, etc?
