I wanted to start a 3rd character
but do I really want to farm spare crates or do world quests for weeks or pvp again for the 3rd time?

Essences were a great idea the first time Blizzard, let’s go.
they shouldn’t be account bound but for sure 4 times more easier to get. I get that you should have to work your chars, the rank 4 I’m all for it to be hard to get. the rank 3 should be ez as doing couple of stuff and done.

Good idea, a mini quest where you gotta do something skill based.
Imagine if pets and mounts were not account bound…
I can settle for something that isn’t account bound, but a solid actual catch-up, not just “hey rank 3 is revered instead of exalted now”
A couple of ideas in no particular order.
- Ranks are 1 lower than on your main. Meaning rank 4 becomes meaningful.
- each time you earn it it gets easier to earn. Eg vision of perfection required 1 less sprocket for rank 3 and rep goes down by 5-10 k.
- after earning an essence and rank 3 they become purchasable from a vendor using a token system. Every time you would earn an essence eg15 things from m+ chest or 21k rep you get a token and can buy one from a vendor.
I would be happy with any of those 3.
