Account banned for no reason. Falsely accused of hacking

This morning I received the an email that stated my account as closed due to Unauthorized Cheat Programs (Hacks). I never did anything of the sort. No hacks, scripts, 3rd party programs or nothing against the tos. I never sold gold or did any real life transactions.

I have 2 accounts and the activities that I was doing on Wow were selling zg mage boosts for 12g per run, and selling stockades for 2.5g per run on my paladin. I was also practicing speed running stockades on my paladin , trying to beat my time. The other thing that I was doing was flipping items on AH using the addon TSM. I would use TSM to snipe and list items.

There was absolutely nothing that I did against the TOS and i’ve always treated everyone with respect and have been kind to people. I’ve been a subcriber since vanilla wow, I have like 6 paladins, 6 warriors, lots of mounts, ect. Tons of time invested into my account.

I’ve filed an appeal but haven’t got a responce yet. At first I mistakenly filed it under email recovery and got a reply saying my account closure will not be over turned. So then I filed one under appeal. Hopefully I can get some help regarding this.

I’ve read that others have had similar problems recently, but something like this shouldn’t happen to people, its not right.

Welcome to Customer Support, not Customer Service. This is a player helping player forum and there are no GMs or any staff here that can help you with an immediate response or trying to bypass the ticket queue.

No one is ever perfect, but you need to let other people who’ve submitted their appeals before you have their turn. Just as warning, the appeals process is only giving another staff member an opportunity to look over your case, no guarantees beyond that. And please be patient. With the recent ban waves rippling through as well as Blizzard staff working from home, it may take a bit for your ticket to be addressed.

And that’s all you can do, you pretty much have to wait until a Game Master answers your appeal.

You can not use these forums to bypass the ticket system.

Okay I’ll try to be patient, I just can’t believe this accually happened. Thanks for the info

Still no responce to my appeal. Somethings got to change because they can’t keep doing this to innocent people. I wish I didn’t even play classic now, because its the same account as my retail account, and I’ve leveled so many toons, bought so many mounts and everything. I’m very sad right now and worried about my account.

Response times are usually around the 24-48 hour mark.

False positives are actually very rare, but they do happen. That’s why there’s an appeal system. Once your ticket hits the front of the queue, a new set of eyes will look at the data they’ve collected and determine if the account action was correct or in error.

Last I heard, appeal tickets are taking anywhere from 24-72 hours at present. But a couple things to keep in mind. 1) It’s not an opportunity to “plead your case”. There won’t be any contact, other than to say the penalty was overturned or upheld. It will be upheld, or overturned, based on what exists in internal logs. 2) Most people tend to assume the ban was for whatever they were doing when it happened. That’s not the case. It could’ve been for something that happened weeks or months ago, as botting investigations take time.

This isn’t to accuse any specific person of anything, but part of the “botter playbook” (something botting software forums actually tells people to do) is to come to the forums, proclaim innocence, and say it must’ve been some sort of addon. While false positives do happen from time to time, they are very rare, and I only ever saw a very small handful (as in, 10 or fewer) confirmed on the forums in the entire 11 years I was playing WOW.

I wonder why so many people have been falsely accused recently. A couple friends have tried to comfort me by showing me recent examples of other people being banned for no reason. It’s just frusterating not knowing the reason why or what they had an issue with, because I didn’t do anything against the TOS. I’m 100% innocent.

No one on the forums can overturn your account action, nor the blues here will pass anything along on your behalf. The CS forum isn’t a place to plead your case.

There shouln’t be a case to begin with though. But yeah, I know what you mean

You don’t know that. People lie when they get caught.

You keep pleading your case here. That’s not going to do anything. Blues here cannot assist you with this. You need to rely on your ticket. As already explained, another set of eyes will look at the evidence and overturn or uphold as their data logs show. Posting here is not going to help your case.

Like many others have said …submit a appeal ticket and wait it out. They will either overturn or uphold (dependent on what their data logs say).

You can continue to appeal until they say that they will no longer take anymore appeals… but using the forum isn’t gonna change nothing or should the forum be used to discuss account actions ( as per the COC).

Reading that second one, I’m wondering if this is from people buying gold and then giving it to these people to buy leveling runs.

Maybe Blizz was just “following the money” and you were at the tail end of the trail?

Discussion of disciplinary actions are not allowed on the forums. As you’ve submitted a ticket aleady, please wait for your appeal to be reviewed by the Game Master team.
