Accidentally Upgraded Covenant Feature

I figured this is a longshot but is it possible to have anima and souls restored after accidentally upgrading something I didn’t mean to?

I went to deposit my anima in my sanctum and by mistake clicked “Unlock Upgrade” instead of “Deposit”. I was saving my souls to upgrade something else next week. If it’s possible to have this reverted I would be grateful.

Also, since we’re here, I think it would be helpful to have an “Are you sure you want to…” dialogue when upgrading covenant features, because I’m sure I’m not the only one who has done this.

Generally speaking the GM staff cannot assist with mistakes such as yours. You could open a ticket and ask, but be prepared for them to say no. It is on the player to read and make sure they are clicking the correct button.

Something you would want to propose using the in-game suggestion feature. GMs and Devs do not come to this particular forum, so your post here will do nothing I’m afraid.

I’m also going to point out that every little detail shouldn’t have to have a confirmation warning. Player culpability is a thing. We should be paying attention to what we’re doing, and while mistakes happen, it is on us at the end of the day. You will get more anima and more souls in time. You just moved ahead in one path earlier than expected rather than another. It will balance itself out.

Same thing just happened to me. It’d be great to have a confirmation button or at least not have the teleport network auto-selected so that one misclick can’t set you back weeks of progress.

It’s not a be-all-end-all mistake though. It only takes a little bit of hesitation in making sure you’re clicking the right thing, and if you upgrade one thing over another? You’ll get the opportunity to upgrade your desired path as soon as you get more resources.

Not everything in this game should be blasted through without reading or paying attention to what you’re doing.

“Unlock Upgrade” and “Deposit” are pretty far apart. This doesn’t sound like a mistake but an intentional action that you are trying to revert.

I just did this exact same thing, went to deposit anima and clicked Upgrade because it was highlighted and since I didnt actually have any anima on that character, deposit was not. It is surprising to me that there is no “are you sure” response to spend upwards of 10k anima ( can take many weeks to accrue).

Sooner or later players will need to be held accountable for their own mistakes, unless you want a game full of “are you sure” prompts at every turn.

You’re welcome to make that suggestion of course, either by way of the in-game suggestion, or posting in general forum (monitored by QA, Devs and community managers).

More info available here:

Since we don’t have a Covenant specific forum, I’d raise a suggestion in the General Discussion forum if you wanted to go the forum route.

Let’s not forget that the deposit button is on the bottom left side of the popup when you view your sanctum, and several inches to the right of it is the upgrade button. They are not very near each other at all.

You know what is hilarious… I work at an Insurance company, and our dang online phone dialer has “conference” and “transfer” like literally right next to one another, and on the screen the boxes are about .25 inches by .25 inches. So many times I hit xfer when trying to conference, and conference when trying to xfer.

As for the OP, yah I think they won’t do something like that. I had a similar issue and my stuff was not refunded :frowning:

This is a lot difference than right next to each other. They are on opposite sides of the UI element that pops up several inches apart.

The bottom line is people need to pay attention to what they’re doing. Not everything needs a safety net. It really is not that hard to take a hot second, make sure your mouse is in the right spot and click it or don’t click it. Even then - more anima can be farmed. It’s not a be all end all issue if something gets upgraded before something else. If nothing else, it’s incentive to pay attention if it is such an issue.

If the game wasn’t so punishing, such mistakes wouldn’t be mistakes.

Reality is, by the time the end of the expansion rolls around you will have put anima into everything and still have more left over.

Remember azerite? Everyone fussing over the best possible route to the best of everything upfront ended up with everything eventually whether they wanted it or not. Had nothing else to spend it on.

Blizzard prioritized “meaningful choice”. If choosing “wrong” is that annoying and impactful, I’d say they succeeded.
