Accessing WoW Armory From Forums

I’m probably just missing something obvious, but is there a way to access a character’s armory page on the new forums? On the old forums, if you clicked their name, it took you to the armory page, but on the new ones, it takes you to their activity page. I can’t find a link from the activity page to their armory page either.

Thanks

Unfortunately, I don’t believe we have Armory profiles tied to the posting avatars. You’ll need to use the search option located on the main page to look up a specific character.

Hopefully that feature is still in the works, but they are getting other aspects of the site sussed out right now.

Thanks, that’s unfortunate, there’s little use to the activity page, whereas the armory page was far more helpful.

Just to be clear, do you mean to see another players profile or yours?

For other profiles you need to use the search option on the main page. For your own, you should have an option to view it. If it doesn’t work you either have opted to hide your public profile (which doesn’t appear to be the case here), or you are experiencing a bug that we’re aware of.

I mean seeing other player’s armory. It was very convenient to be able to see their relevant experience to a topic with one click, rather than having to use some roundabout search functionality, which can be rather inconvenient if it is a popular name, since the activity page doesn’t show their server either. For example, say there’s a half dozen other Paladins named Lysat, and someone wanted to look me up, they’d have to search, and either try to see if one of the head-shots matches, or open them all up, and look for the matching guild. Definitely not user friendly.

Actually just went to check, and I don’t see an option on my activity page to access my armory, but that isn’t something I would ever use.

It appears that may actually be a bug, Lysat. Hopefully something that can be resolved quickly.

A workaround to viewing their armory is just modifying an armory link you have on hand to match their server and name.

Not really. How would you judge how much experience I have with mythic raiding (as an example) by looking at this character’s Armory page? What does that page tell you about anything about me or my experience other than what that one character has done?

Ninety-five percent of the time, looking up someone’s Armory is just an excuse to dismiss or discount their post.

How do you find the person’s server name from the activity profile? I don’t see it but I might just be overlooking it.

Hover over the character name and look in one of the corners for the popup. My browser puts it in the lower-left corner.

Truthspeaker is on Alleria.

You can also click View Activity and look at the URL.

I posted a bug about this in the web forum
You can view your forum data by adding .json into your character summery
for example, add “.json” to the end of this
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/u/Tinkerizmo-dalaran

making it into this:
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/u/Tinkerizmo-dalaran/activity.json

In addition to a lot of other info your can find the link to your profile data as profile_url

"profile_url":"https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/dalaran/Tinkerizmo/"

When my profile broke and wasn’t available it had this instead

"profile_url":null

Something on the server lost that association. Just started working again today for me.

Indeed.

I know they had been working on it and were close to pushing a patch. Sounds like they did!

I had to log out and back in to get it to pop.
